I'm watching 48 Hrs - Hard Evidence on the ID channel about the Colton Pitonyak case. I've read the book twice and think it's one of your best. The show has several interviews with Laura Hall and she is a real specimen. Her protestations of innocence sound like she is trying to copy what she thinks a truly innocent person would sound like. Keep up the good work! Jan

KC: Thanks, Jan. It's much appreciated!

Hi Kathryn,

David Temple's ruling was upheld. I will attach the information for the record.

http://openandclose.homestead.com/TempleOpinion.html

Hope this brings some peace to those impacted by this crime.

Shannon

KC: Hi Shannon! I appreciate your letting me know. I do have this listed on the "update" page, in the lower left hand column. Just click on the link for updates on all the cases in my books.

Hi Kathryn. I just finished A Descent Into Hell. What a gifted writer you are! I couldn't put it down. It's one of those books that stays with you for weeks, maybe years. I've read many true crime books but never one that made me cry. I felt a tiny portion of what Jennifer's famiy was going through. I was heartened that you added so much information about Susan, the rest of her family and how they were dealing with the death of such a wonderful daughter and sister. That's usually what's missing in true crime books. The victims and those victims left behind should never be forgotten or overlooked. I hope the Cave family is doing well. I think of them often.
Thank you,
Rochester, NY

KC: Thank you for your kind post. I know that Jennifer's family will be very touched to hear that your thoughts are with them. My heart truly goes out to crime victims and their families. So many are so brave in the face of such tragedy.

Nashville TN
I just wanted to say I really enjoy reading ur books I have read several of them. I just finished A descent into hell. I can say that was a hard book to read. I have a teenage daughter and two almost teenage boys and I made my daughter read the book so she could see what can happen. I feel for Jennifers mom and family. I can not even put in to words how I would feel. My family thinks I am crazy to read about such bad things and I don't think that way I read them and the whole time think really they think they will walk for this no matter what they do they will get caught.

KC: Hey, Nashville! So glad you're enjoying the books. DIH is a tough book. I agree. Such a strange and sad case. My take on true crime books is that the good ones give a lot of insight into human nature. Thanks for dropping in.

Hi Kathryn, Fiona here. I was on here before a couple of times. Tracy Tarlton was paroled last August. Do you know how she is doing healthwise and wellbeing? She has gone through so much in life as detailed in your book She Wanted It All.

KC: Hi, Fiona! The last I heard from Tracey, she was living with friends in San Antonio and getting her bearings after spending the years in prison. She seemed to be doing very well.

************

Katherine, where oh where can I find the paperback version of Texas Love Triangle???

KC: Unfortunately, there isn't one. That's one of my four true crime shorts, not a full book but a condensed recounting of an interesting case, and it's an ebook exclusive! I'm sorry. I truly am. I wish I had that option, but the shorts really aren't suited to doing as paper books. Thank you for asking though!

*******************

I am a native Houstonian, so of course you are my fave author by default... funny thing is I have never read you before, he he he. Just started reading The Killing Storm, actually on page 15 and already I am happy. Have family in Tomball. I can not believe I have not read you yet. You just might have a new fan.

KC: Well, thanks! Houston's a great place to live. I love it here. Great to hear that you're enjoying the books. Say hi to your family in Tomball for me!

******************

I have read SHATTERED countless times, yet each time I read it my heart breaks for Belinda Temple and her family. I feel that Belinda's family received justice, if not closure, when David Temple was sentenced to life in prison. I pray his appeal will be denied. An excellent book that will stay on my reading list for a long time to come!

KC: It's wonderful to hear that you enjoyed the book so much you're rereading it! You can check in on David's appeals on the update page of the website, last in the left hand column. Belinda was a very special woman.

***************

I went to High School with James Bergstrom. I remember watching the local news and seeing his arrest and being very disturbed that I knew him. He was very strange in school and I can't say I was surprised he turned out this way. I hope he stays behind bars for a long time for what he has done to women.

KC: I agree. We're all safer if James isn't free.

******************

Kathryn I just finished reading Shattered. I used to live in Katy as a teen growing up there way before the murder of Belinda Temple. Your book put me right there! It is wonderful the way you can put your readers right there at the scene and in the courtroom. The crime was absolutely horrendous. I believe David Temple was sentenced correctly. I would like to know if he is still in prison? I hope he is. Hoping his appeals will be denied.
Linda

KC: Hey Linda! Good to hear from you. I'm glad I caught the flavor of Katy. I enjoy researching the areas I'm writing about. Check the update page for the latest on David's appeals. I have all the info there! The link is the last one in the column on the right. Thanks for dropping in.

**********************

Kathryn, just read the She Wanted it all book again for the second time...what a great book!It gets me so angry to think Celeste Beard Johnson got away with as much as she did. My heart goes out to the entire Beard family, and to celestes children, they have been through HELL. Heather...Frankfort,NY

KC: Hey Heather! Good to hear from you. Yup, Celeste is a piece of work all right. The twins had more than their share of turmoil growing up. I know we all wish them the very best.

*****************

I just finished reading 'A Warrant To Kill' by Kathryn Casey. This is one of the best written true crime books I've ever read .... in a class with Ann Rule. Many authors seem to regurgitate writing scenes over and over again .... you didn't .... couldn't put it down. RF

KC: Hi, RF! So glad you enjoyed AWTK. I try hard not to repeat within a book, and I'm delighted to hear that it's working. I really dislike books where the author keeps going back over the same information. Enough already! LOL. Thanks for dropping in!

***************

I just finished Susan White's book; I read it on my Kindle. There were no pictures and I always enjoy my true crime pictures. Where might some pictures of the principal characters be located? Enjoy your writing very much; always have liked Ann Rule and Carlton Stowers. Thank you, Lynda

KC: Glad you're enjoying the books, Lynda. I heard about this problem and talked to the publisher, but I gather it hasn't been fixed yet. I am sorry. Because of the issue, I scanned and posted the photos from the book on the page devoted to the book here on my website. Simply look in the left-hand column and click on the book's name, A Warrant to Kill.

*************

Hi Kathryn, I'm reading A warrant to kill and I'm hooked!!! My mom introduced me to your books and I love them. Ann Rule was spot on with the recommendation. You give victims and their families a voice. Thank you!

Claudia

KC: Hey, Claudia. Nice to meet you. Thank you to your mom! Really happy to hear that you're enjoying the books! Ann is really quite wonderful.

********************

Hi Kathryn, I am a third generation true crime fanatic! I am on my fifth book, and my boyfriend now hates that he introduced me to the Kindle app on the iPad....just gives me quicker access to your books so less game time for him. :). I am giving my mom and meme your books...I know they will be hooked! awesome job!

Mandi

KC: Hey, Mandi! Your post made me chuckle. Please apologize to your boyfriend for me, but I'm delighted that he introduced you to the Kindle app. Also tell your mom and meme hi for me. Just so happy that you're enjoying the books!

***************

I was watching the James Bergstroms story and hoping he was still locked up is he? Can I sign a petition because I will?

KC: Thank you for wanting to help. There are instructions for protesting on the update page on this website. You'll find the link is the last one in the left hand column. Again, thank you!

Hello Kathryn

Just returned from vacation where I bought your book about the Belinda Temple murder. How sad and how atrocious at what she suffered. I could not put this book down I was so saddened by the betrayal she suffered despite being a wonderful human being. I have also read 'a warrant to kill,' and 'she wanted it all' as well as many others and can recommend them to other true crime readers. I am from the UK and just wanted to drop by to say thank you you for all your hard work. It is important that the victims are not forgotten. Your books ensure this will never happen.

Kind regards

Joanna

KC: Hi Joanna, Thank you for reading the books. If it weren't for all of you readers, I wouldn't be in a position to write. You all make a wonderful difference.

****************

Ann Rule highly recommends your true crime books and from reading the first three chapters of 'The Killing Storm,' she is spot on. I don't have Kindle or Nook, is there an option to pay and download to my computer?

In addition, when you research your next book, do you write while investigating, or do you wait to write until you know the outcome? Very interested in the answer. I look forward to your response and reading your books. J.C.

Hi J.C.

All my books are available in either hardcover or paperback form as well as eBooks. So if you don't have an eReader, it's not a problem. The exceptions are the true crime shorts, which are only in eBook form. If you don't have an eReader, you can download the Kindle program free off Amazon and read the shorts on either your smart phone or your computer.

As to how I work, I start the books at the time of the trial. I attend all the trials, and then fan out from there, interviewing everyone willing to talk to me. I don't usually start writing until I've finished all the research!

Thank you for your interest!

Best,
KC

******************

I love the cover of your book. As an author, the Manipulative Man McCoy, 2006, I know how hard it is to find a good cover artist.

KC: Thanks! I'm assuming that you're talking about TRUE CRIME FILES? I posted the cover on facebook. It'll be available next week. I'm very excited. Good luck with your book!

********************

Hi Ms Casey,
I've read several of your books so far and am "hooked" the same way I was when I started reading Ann Rule.
I'm not quite finished with Celeste Beard; She actually has a website! (didn't think they could do this from prison) "Free Celeste" where she solicits donations for her legal fees! Really?!! She is one scary person that I hope never is free again, I also hope she rots in hell. You really captured her. This book was awesome; I couldn't put it down. Thanks again!! Are you working on anything at the moment?

KC: Wonderful to hear that you're hooked! LOL Seriously, it's kind of you to drop in to tell me. Celeste is incredibly destructive, the way she uses people. I'm finishing up a book on the Matt Baker case out of Waco, TX. Matt's a former Baptist minister convicted of murdering his wife and staging it to look like a suicide. Ann's a great writer, and a wonderful woman.

**************

Did you follow the trial of Casey Anthony? If so, what did you think of the prosecution's case and the verdict? D

Hi, D. I watched parts of the trial, but not as if I were following it for a book. I'm still pretty amazed at the verdict. I can't understand how the jurors didn't find Casey Anthony guilty of child abuse. She was the last one with Caylee, and the little girl ended up dead in the woods. She didn't report it for 32 days. I don't know enough to judge what happened on the murder charge, but certainly there was enough there for felony child abuse.

****************

Ms. Casey, just read one of your books for the first time - "Shattered", and was very impressed by your writing. Actually it was the first true crime book I'd read in years. Dark human behavior can certainly be depressing or overwhelming at times. Do you ever have problems disengaging when you're working on a true crime book or have you learned how to turn your brain off when needing a break from it all?

KC: I'm glad you enjoyed the latest true crime book. Yes, it can be upsetting. It's difficult to see/hear what people will do to each other. But the truth is that I meet wonderful people writing true crime books, so it's not as depressing as one might think. I believe it has made me appreciate life more, which is a good thing!

***************

Shattered - It sounds like there are some very judgemental people who have a read a book by an author who does not know ALL of the parties involved and only gave the Kelly Sigler version.....

KC: That's incredibly unfair. I spent a year on this book, and I reached out to everyone involved in the case. In the end, I interviewed somewhere around 100 people. If you have information you'd like to tell me even now about the case, you can reach me at kc@kathryncasey.com. If not, it's really not fair to complain.

***********************

Hi Kathy, great writing. I am a first time reader of your book " die, my love" and haven't finished it yet. I have read a lot of true crime books but I don't know where I have been in passing/missing your books. I am going to try and read all your books now. Thanks, John

KC: Hi, John. Wonderful to hear from you. I'm so glad you enjoyed the book! It was kind of you to get in touch to tell me.

*******************

did kent mcgowan ever go to jail?? I just finished
"Warrant to Kill". great book....very sad story...

KC: Check out the update page for that information. It's the last link in the left hand column. Great to hear that you enjoyed the book!

****************

From Jeannie in beautiful NC: Next to Ann Rule (I read you upon her recommendation) you are the best crime writer bar none. Holding my breath for your next book!

KC: Thanks, Jeannie. Ann is one of my favorites, too. She's a great writer and a wonderful woman.

*************

Hi Kathryn, just finished a second reading of Shattered. My own theory is that Belinda was in the kitchen ready to put the soup in the fridge when David called out to her from the bedroom. Belinda hurriedly went upstairs dropping her keys on the way up (assuming David sounded frantic enough). Then as she entered the bedroom, either David ordered her down on her knees in the closet or asked her to look at something near the floor of the closet when he pulled the fatal trigger. Just my guess Kathryn. Love your writing!! Fiona

KC: Wow, second reading! You've got this case down, Fiona! You may be right. Unfortunately, we'll never know. The only thing that seems certain is that she died soon after arriving home.

***********************
I just started reading blood lines and you are becoming another one of my fave crime writers, brava!

Jenn (KS)

KC: Jenn, you made me smile. Thank you.

***********************

Life without parole seems justified based on what I saw on the show. At least 20 years before being eligible for parole.

KC: Not sure which show/case this is about? Glad you enjoyed the program though.

******************

I have read all of your True Crime Books. Loved everyone of them. Looking forward to the Matt Baker book. I'm not really a fan of fiction, but may consider reading yours once I'm all caught up with the True Crime.

KC: Thank you! Hope you enjoy the fiction. It's been great fun to write.

************

Love your work.

KC: Thanks! It's appreciated.

**************

Hi Kathryn-
I recently finished reading "She Wanted it All" and noticed that Tracy Tarlton was eligible for parole this February, 2011 - do you have any updates? Thanks for a very interesting book!

KC: Tracey is eligible for parole this year, but no decision has been made yet. When I find out, I'll put it up on the Update Section in the left hand lower corner. Glad you enjoyed the book!

*************

I have only read Shattered, but it was written so well! Sad story. I wish my local library had more of your books on the shelf! Will definitely read more!

KC: Glad you enjoyed it! Hope your library orders some. Sometimes they can bring them in from other libraries/branches!

*************************

Haven't read one if your books yet because I'm in nursing school and all I read is my textbooks. But I promise when I'm done reading about vomit, perforated anuses and heart attacks....I will read one of your novels! True crime intrigues me and I am looking forward to reading home grown Texan stories!

KC: Wow! That's quite a reading list. Glad I'm on your to-be-read list!

************

Hello Kathryn,I have read Shattered and She Wanted It All so far. I have enjoyed both books very much. I am on my way to the library to see what else is available. Please keep them coming. I plan to read them all. Thanks! Your talent is awesome. Shelly~San Angelo Tx.

KC: Thanks, Shelly! I appreciate your dropping in to say hello. So glad you're enjoying the books.

*********************

Actually my comments are not unlike everyone else's. You're a terrific writer and your books are totally captivating. I have read 3 so far and will order the others as I go along. I can really appreciate the time and work you have put into these books evidenced by the detail you lay out. Texas fascinates me as well. I'm from north of the border and life is a little different here. Love to have you live here for a while and write about some of the whack jobs around here... Ms. Casey, you are an incredible author, don't stop.

Walter from Vancouver

KC: Hey, Walter. I love Vancouver. What a beautiful place to live. Thank you so much for your kind comments. I'd love to cover a case in your part of the world, but the books take me so long (guess I'm a bit slow) that I have to stay closer to home, or I'd be on the road all the time. Again, thank you!

*********************

Hi Kathryn - As a long time fan of true crime books, particularly Ann Rule, I stumbled on Shattered. It was beyond terrific - and I have since read all the rest of your true crime books - could not put them down ! I'm sure you can't write fast enough for me !! Many thanks ! Betsy

KC: Hey, Betsy, thank you! So glad you tried one of my books. It's wonderful to know that you're enjoying them. I'm an ARF, too. Ann is a great lady.

*****************

Hi katherine, I am a new reader of your books, and I think you are an excellent true crime writer. I have read 5 of them since receiving a kindle for Christmas. I, too, like many others, am hoping that Kent Mcgowen is in jail by now. Is he? ed

Hey Ed. Kindles really sound like fun. So glad you're enjoying the books. I'd better start writing faster. I can't keep up with all of you! Check the update section in the lower left hand column for the latest on Kent McGowen!

****************

Hi Kathryn
We are so excited to see you today. Thanks for being such a powerful writer and sharing it with us. Jo Gilbert

Hi Jo! Loved meeting your book club. What a great group you have. Keep reading!

******************

Hi Ms. Casey. Read shattered and it was so well done that I can't wait to get the rest of your books. The outcome was reassuring to many who had lost faith in the jury system. One thing I really long for in a true crime story is where the killer actually admits his/her crime and tells how it was done. I guess I want them to show some remorse, and not just sorrow that they were caught. Thanks for your great work!

KC: Thank you so much for your comment. Wonderful to hear that you enjoyed the book. I haven't covered a case where the killer has admitted guilt, but I'm sure they're out there.

*****************

Hello, Kathryn: Just can't stand it, I was a 'late bloomer' getting to your books, once I did, read them all, the true life crime in Texas. You have spoiled me now I am in withdrawel waiting for your next, Matt Baker. Thank you for your wonderful work, I do believe it helps the victim's families and friends as well, to tell an honest story.

KC: Then we're both late bloomers! LOL Sorry about your withdrawal pains, but I'm working hard. Sign up for the newsletter on this Web site. I always keep readers posted about when to expect new books. Thanks for dropping in! Your comment made me smile!

****************

Hi Kathryn:
thank you for responding to my post, I am glad in a way that David Temple's appeal was denied, however the true victims of this senseless tragedy are course Belinda and Erin. Natalie :)

Hi Natalie: You're welcome! It's good to hear from you.

*****************
Hi Kathryn:

Just almost finished reading Shattered, and what a gripping read. I have no sympathy at all for David and his family, although I do feel for the Lucas family. Did you happen to see that 48 hours program, where David is actually shedding tears for his dead wife, nothing was said about his verbal abuse of his wife, he said he wanted the baby girl, not true. Do you think he will win his appeal?

KC: Glad you're enjoying the latest true crime book. For the latest on David's appeal, click on the update page, using the link in the lower left-hand column. There is news!

***********************

I read my books on my Kindle and was very disappointed there were no photoes in "A Warrant to Kill". I went online to see if there were photos and there were none so I was disappointed again.

KC: I am sorry about that. I've told HarperCollins about the issue and they're investigating. I hope there will be photos very, very soon. Because I had this complaint earlier, I put some of the photos from the book up on A Warrant to Kill's page on this Web site. Just click on the title in the left hand column and you'll be able to take a look!

******************

Hi Kathryn Casey,

I Just finished reading "Shattered" what a great book could not put it down! What a sad Story! Sorry to hear what happened to Belinda and her baby Erin all those years ago. Can not wait to read more of your Books. I like the look of A Descent into Hell!! All the Best.
Janet.

KC: Thanks so much, Janet. It's great to hear that you enjoyed the latest true crime book.

*********************

You were recommended by a friend of mine who knows you, but will go un-named. I am new to your books but have just requested Singularity at the local library, (and by the way, our teeny tiny library has THREE of your books!). So, that's that. Just glad to give a published female writer a kudo. Barbara

KC: Thanks, Barbara. That's great that your library has the books. Say hi to the librarians for me, and to the person who knows me, whoever it is!

*********************

Dear Ms. Casey.
I just finished reading "The Killer Storm" and I have very seldom come across a book that I simply had to finish. I couldn't put it down. Thanks for such a splendid story.
Betty S.

KC: Hi, Betty! I do love hearing that you couldn't put the new novel down. I try hard to keep you reading, you know!

****************

Hi Kathryn,
I have just finished Evil Beside Her. You wrote it beautifully, I could not put it down. At times I was feeling anger for Linda staying with James, but your way of relating what she was going through made me feel differently. I'm from Toronto, Canada, and I always had the impression that Texas had the harshest laws of all, but I think he still did get off a little easy. Anyway, thank you for the amazing work you did and I look forward to reading more from you.
Dee

KC: Hi, Dee. Thanks so much. Much appreciated. I am trying to keep James Bergstrom behind bars. You don't have to live in the U.S. to protest his parole. See instructions on the UPDATE page.

******************

Hi!
I belong to two book clubs and buy my books mostly through them. I saw The Killing Storm advertised one month. Plot plus intriguing cover made me buy it. I have not read the other Sarah Armstrong series.
Now I will have to read the other two in series. Killing Storm was sooooo good! I finished it today stuck in house from a blizzard! The plot was so great and other characters were well done. The storm coming in the book was so suspenseful. I hope you are writing another Sarah book!

KC: Thanks so much. Absolutely made my night to hear you're enjoying the mystery series. I have a bunch of fun writing the books. I loved writing about that hurricane. (Way more fun than living through one.)

*****************

Hi Kathryn!

I can't wait for your book on the Matt Baker case. How is it coming along? (If you're interested in the Casey Anthony saga, I would LOVE to read your take on it...!)

Anyway, "She Wanted It All" continues to fascinate me - and this is literally weeks after I initially closed the book. One of the reasons the story continues to intrigue is Celeste Beard's life of non-regret behind bars. I was Googling and found the most bizarre pro-defense site I've ever seen: freeceleste.com. I couldn't help but laugh when I saw her list of 'upcoming projects': "Mining for Misery: how true crime writer's (sic) profit off pain." Since she apparently holds a fresh BA from Texas A&M (??), one is left to wonder why grammar 101 continues to fail so harshly.

Liz

KC: Hi Liz. Glad you're enjoying the true crime books. Great to hear! I'll have to check out Celeste's Web site. You know, I guess she didn't like my book? How shocking is that?

***************

I really enjoy your writing. Good reading!

KC: Thank you!

****************

I loved Blood Lines!

I have read 2 of your Sarah Armstrong book's ( loved them ). I hope to see more of Sarah and her fellow Rangers. Keep them coming.

KC: I'm not sure if both of those posts above are from the same person, but thank you! It's wonderful to hear that you're enjoying the novels. I love writing them.

*****************

WOW, I just read a warrant to kill, a buddy suggested it and i gotta tell you i read the whole book in one setting. I'm in law enforcement and have lived in this area my whole life (although i was young when the events took place) i knew almost every location in that book, i simply couldn't put it down. After reading it i talked to several of my "old school" co-workers and some of them knew the guy, one even worked with him. I will definitely be adding your books to my collection. I see your po box is int Tomball, must have been thrilling writing about something so close to home.

Andrew

KC: Hey Andrew, Wonderful to hear that you enjoyed the book. It's an amazing case. Yes, it was fun to write about a case in my own backyard! Best, KC

*******************

i called my library to find out if you were ann rule but now i know you are not that you just like her books like i do

KC: Nope, I'm not Ann Rule. And yes, I do like her a bunch. LOL Thanks for stopping in!

************************

Hello again Kathryn,
Thank you for posting the photos for Warrant to Kill. FYI, the photos that were in the HB version of Shattered WERE included in the Kindle version. For some reason Kindle books often don't have the photos/illustrations they should have.... I wonder if this is a publisher's decision or Amazon's. In any case, there's no way of knowing beforehand if the photos will be included or not in a Kindle book. Again, many thanks! Lee

KC: That is odd. It's the same publisher for both books. Must be some kind of a glitch. Thank you again for telling me. Hope the photos I posted helped!

******************

Kathryn - I was given a copy of Shattered by a friend who said it was a great read! I was a little unsure if I would enjoy it, since I had already watched a television show about this murder, but I could not put it down! I just finished A Warrant to Kill and it was just as good!! Planning to buy another one of your books soon!! Keep up the good work and keep these good true crime books coming!

KC: Thanks anon above! I'm very happy to hear that you enjoyed both books. Happy New Year!

******************

Hi Kathryn, I just finished reading A Warrant to Kill on my Kindle and was disappointed the photos weren't included. I looked online for photos and inside the book on Amazon. I couldn't find any through Google and, evidently, the pictures are copyrighted so they weren't shown on Amazon. Can you please tell me where I can see the photos that were in the HB book? (BTW, I love your books!)
Lee

KC: Hi, Lee! Glad you're enjoying the books. I didn't realize that photos aren't included on Kindle. That's not good. Sigh. The photos are, of course, in the printed books. For folks buying e-books, I went ahead and posted some of them on the WTK page on this Web site. Unfortunately, they didn't scan all that well. Thanks for letting me know. I hope Amazon gets this fixed!

******************

I am reading Blood Lines, having read Singularity and the Killing Storm already. I love your style of writing (a little bit like JA Jance I think)! I hope you are working on another Sarah Armstrong book.

KC: Hi anon above! I'm glad you're enjoying the novels. I love writing them. I'm not working on another Sarah Armstrong book at the moment, but I would like to in the future. Sign up for the newsletter, and I'll keep you posted. Funny you'd mention Jance; Library Journal compared our books. Very flattering! Happy New Year!

*************************

I downloaded "Decent Into Hell" on my iPad and finished it the second night. I watched Pitonyak's trial on Court TV in 2007. This case has always interested me because the murder seemed so senseless and what they did afterwards was disgustingly unimaginable. I saw the 48 Hours episode for the first time a few weeks ago and Laura Hall appeared to be incredibly out of touch with reality. She came off as completely unbelievable and most of all, truly disturbed. Jennifer's mom said it best when she said," when you look at Laura, there's nothing there." It's scary to know that this kind of evil exists and she'll unfortunately be up for parole soon.

I always felt so bad for Jennifer's sweet mother. I pray that family finds the strength to move forward, as best they can.

2 Questions out of complete curiosity: Do you know if Mr. pitonyak is continuing his college education in prison? Where is he serving his sentence?

On a random note, I grew up in the town of Kerrville, Texas, which is where Matt Baker moved after the death of his wife. I didn't return to Kerrville after college and reside in Dallas, but I heard all about it. It's a small town, so any news like that is a big deal. I don't have any information other than I know he was working as a Youth Pastor while in Kerrville. If you need any information about the town itself, I'd be happy to provide information. His mugshot is in the public records section on the Kerr County website.

I like that you write true crime about murders that take place in Texas because I've followed so many of them. I was impressed with "Descent..." Very well written and researched. I believe I'll be downloading the book about Belinda Temple next!!

Have you ever thought about looking into the murder of 16 year old Heather Rich?? Very interesting case with many twists and turns...just a thought.

KC: I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed DIH. It was a hard book to write, incredibly sad. Others have mentioned the Rich case to me. At this point, I'm booked up. I would love to hear from you regarding Kerrville. Please email me at kc@kathryncasey.com, and we'll "talk."

The last I heard, Colton was teaching English as a second language and literacy to other inmates. I haven't heard that he's continuing his education, but he may be. He should. He is truly brilliant. You're right about Laura. You can read more about her under the update section on this Web site.

Merry Christmas,
I just started reading your book, "Shattered" and I find it a very easy read. This is the first time I have read any of your books and I know I will want to read the one that you are working on now. Thank you for this book.
Grace

KC: Hi, Grace. You're welcome, and thank you for your kind post. I'm so glad you're enjoying SHATTERED. Wishing you a great 2011!

******************

KC: Happy holidays, everyone! Wishing you a great 2011!

BREAKING NEWS: 12/21/10: New info on the David Temple case (SHATTERED). I don't want to post a spoiler here, so please check out my update page for information.

I love all your true crime novels, and have recently discovered your fiction series. WTG! I really appreciate all of your Texas descriptions, I can almost picture the areas. Don't let Sarah Armstrong get lazy..........send her out on another mission soon!

Iris

Hey Iris,
Wonderful to hear! Thank you. I'm enjoying Sarah, too. Happy Holidays!

Hi Kathryn,

I recently received a kindle for my birthday and was searching for true crime books and a number of yours popped up ! I read Shattered and A Descent into Hell. Great books and could not put them down ! I have been a big fan of Anne Rule for years and you both are fabulous. Happy Holidays to you Kathryn ! ... Jim

Hey Jim,

I love hearing that you're enjoying the books!!!!! Thank you for posting to let me know. I'm a big Ann Rule fan, too. Wishing you and your family a wonderful holiday season!

KC

*************************

KC: Just a note to wish everyone a happy thanksgiving! I wish you all a wonderful day! One of the many things I'm thankful for: All of you who read my books, enjoy them, and tell others. It means the world to me!

*********************

I've been an Ann Rule fan for many years & always wished that I could find another author with a similar style. I live in the NW now but am originally from Dallas so was very excited to have found you. I'm looking forward to reading all your books over the winter months. Hugs, DGW

KC: Thanks, DGW! It's appreciated. I'm an Ann Rule fan, too, so this is a great compliment.

Hi Kathryn,

My mother was a teacher at Hastings when Belinda was murdered. I understand she spoke with you on a number of occasions while you were doing the investigative work for "Shattered". I read the book and we have both followed this story for many years. So many people at Hastings felt from the beginning that David Temple killed Belinda. I am wondering where to look to continue to watch for a verdict on David's appeal. Can you tell me that please? Also, thank you for bringing to light the voice that David tried to silence in Belinda. In a time when so many need a precious person in their life like her, I'm thankful her story wasn't stolen by the evil that was threatened by her innocence.
Sincerely, Shannon W.

KC: Hi Shannon. Thank you. It was kind of you to get in touch, and I appreciate your support. You can check the update section on my Web site for news, and I'd watch the Houston Chronicle for updates.

***********************

Kathryn, you ought to be proud of yourself, i have not read in over 10 yrs and picked your book Shattered through a recommendation from friend and really enjoyed it could not put it down finished it and then got A Descent Into Hell, once again could not put it down I just started She Wanted It All, I am in law enforcement and now really enjoy reading true crime thanks again for the great reads J.M.

KC: Well, thank you! What a wonderful compliment.

*******************

Kathryn, do you know if the person who portrayed McGowan on the American Justice documentary today was the real Kent McGowan or was he an actor? It bugged me because I am almost certain I have seen him on a previous AJ show that had nothing to do with this murder. Can't wait to get your book and read the whole story and your take on the kind of man that would do such a horrible thing.

KC: I'm not sure which program aired. If it's one where he's talking in prison, that's Kent. If it's one where there's a reenactment, that's not Kent. Sorry. But I didn't see it.

**********************

I just watched the A&E documentary about Kent McGowan and was sickened he didnt get life. I just had to know if he got parolled in 2007....thanks for posting an update! I will check back in @sept 2011. Guys like this make me wanna puke!

KC: I can understand that. Thanks for dropping in.

******************

Thank you for letting us know that Jason was able to move on with his life! One thing in the story - that keeps nagging at me......The fact that Jason's girlfriend picked up the gun off the bed that night and moved it to the top of the headboard......nothing else was ever mentioned about that... and it's curious that her fingerprints were not found on the gun at all...only McGowen's.

KC: Some people don't leave fingerprints, especially on a gun with a rough surface on the grip. Also, hands that are just washed are less likely to leave fingerprints. It's not an absolute that if someone touches something, they'll leave fingerprints behind.

*******************
I just finished "A Warrant to Kill". I recently moved into the same neighborhood that the murder took place..and a neighbor told me about the case and loaned me your book... I could not put it down! I am hooked! I just looked up all the other titles and am going to rush out and buy them all! I am curious if you know what ever happened to poor Jason? Sincerely, C.L.

KC: The last I heard, Jason was doing well, working in Louisiana with his dad, in construction. Wonderful to hear that you enjoyed the book, and I hope you're more than happy in your new home!

*********************

Mrs. Casey,
I just finished "shattered", and i could not put that book down. it was so good, just wanted you to know that i absolutely loved it!
just one question.. Why didn't David Temple get the death penalty?

KC: Wonderful to hear that you enjoyed the book! David wasn't eligible for the death penalty. At the time of the killing, it wasn't a double homicide to murder a pregnant woman, and Texas requires two felonies to be eligible. Hope that explains it. Again, I'm delighted to hear that you enjoyed SHATTERED!

*********************

have you solved any crimes? Not in a book but in real life. I'm doing a project on you and i was wondering. Im in fifth grade.

KC: Nope. I haven't solved any crimes. I have come to my own conclusions about some, but I've never actually solved one. It's not what I do. I'm an author.

******************

I have recently completed reading: Decent into Hell, Evil Beside Her and now have begun reading Shattered. I'm hooked!

I love your complete descriptions of the main characters; I could pick them out of a police lineup without seeing a photo. As soon as I finish Shattered I will download Killing Storm. I think what intrigues me the most about your writing style is that you keep it personal with character and the story line. Even though the details of their crimes are horrible you know so much about their personalities you can see the train wreck coming before the victim does. I know allot of research goes into each of books on not just the crime, but victims and their families.

KC: Thank you! I can't tell you how much it means to me to hear that you're enjoying the books. And, I don't say this often enough: Thank you to everyone out there who reads my books, enjoys them, and recommends them to others. It's sincerely appreciated.

*********************

I'm sitting at dinner with your sister in law Jan. She told me about your books and I am eager to pick one to read. Jan can't seem to pick a favorite, but she says "hello".

KC: Say hi for me!

*******************

It's A Strange Affair isn't it?

KC: If I knew what you were talking about, I'd answer that!

*******************

I am getting a Kindle this week, The Killing Storm will be the very first book put on it.

Aster

KC: I hear great things about the Kindles, Aster. Make sure you let me know how you like it. It's so cool that mine is the first book you're downloading!

***********************

I don't have a question..just a comment!! Thank you over and over again for your wonderful writing. I just finished "Shattered" and despite the sorrow of the subject,I found it a great read. I love finding new authors with new words..you are now my favourite true crime writer. Thanks again, B.

KC: Thanks, B. I'm honored to be at the top of your list! Really great of you to post to tell me!

**********************

Just finished the book "Shattered." I am interested in knowing the results of David Temple's appeal. I'm hoping he didn't get one. Gerry in KS

KC: The appeals court hasn't announced a decision yet, Gerry. I'm sorry, but we're all still waiting. Thanks for getting in touch!

***********************

Hi Kathryn, I've just finished reading "A Warrant to Kill". OMG, what a tragedy...I have yet to research and find out what has happened since the end of the book, but I will soon. I've picked up a few of your books on the advice of Ann Rule, whose every book I have. I'm getting a Kindle, and can't wait to get more of your books. Your style of writing is very similar to Ann's who I adore!! Thanks a bunch. Sharon in St. Louis MO

KC: Great to hear from you, Sharon. Yes, Ann is wonderful. I never miss her books. It's a compliment to be compared to her! You can check out the "Updates" page to find out what happened. The later editions of WTK have an updated conclusion.

**************************

Hi, I'm doing a bio on you. Anything that will help and make it interesting? I am in 5th grade.

KC: Hi. I often work with students on projects like this. If you'd like to e-mail me a few questions at kc@kathryncasey.com, I'll be happy to answer them for you!

***********************

sorry i just left a comment and forgot one thing that you might want to aware of. i ordered shattered through doubleday and i always look forward to the pictures. however the copy they sent me had the pictures inserted incorrectly. the were about 3/4 of an inch too high so the top pictures had everyone's head cut off and the pages weren't seperated. i had to cut them apart. though no fault of your own i wondered if anyone else had had this problem.

KC: Thanks for letting me know. I'm guessing you mean through the Doubleday Book Club. I'll let my editor know, so he can notify them. I'm sincerely sorry that happened! Maybe you can contact them and get a replacement book through their customer service department.
**************

i am a true crime fan and just read shattered because it had ann rule's name on the cover and then realized that you wrote die my love that i had also read. am looking forward to reading more and glad i found this website as ann rule's seems to be shut down for reader's comments. thank you for the good reading-may have to check out the fiction.

KC: Glad you're enjoying the books, and it's wonderful to meet you.

**************

I resently purchased a Kindle and just finished "Shattered" Whew! What a wonderful writer you are, I'm totally hooked and can't wait to read each and every one of your books. And thanks so much for making sure photos are included in the kindle version. Myrlin

KC: Thanks, Myrlin. So glad you enjoyed the book. I need to get a Kindle. The really sound like fun.

*************

I just got done with Shattered.....what horrible evil human beings David and Heather Temple...two selfish, no-good low life people who are both responsible for the cold blooded death of Belinda Lucas Temple. They won't have to answer to God because they both are going straight to hell.

KC: It is an upsetting case, I know. Very tragic and sad.

*******************

You are a master of words and story telling. I could not put down your book "Shattered". I read it in two days and could feel the emotions of all involved. Have ordered more of your books through Amazon and plan to read everything you write from now on.

KC: Thanks so much. It's really rewarding to hear that you enjoyed the new book!

******************

1) Shattered, another great read, couldn't put it down! DD

2) Another GREAT one (shattered). Thanks KC

3) Hi Kathryn,
I just read Shattered and it was very very good. It made me so sad and even sadder that I found Heather is on Facebook with pics of her happy life with Evan. It made me so sad.

4) You are a much better writer than Ann Rule. I can't wait to read the Matt Baker book!!!

KC: Thanks, all four of the anonymous comments above. Number four: Ann is one of my favorite people and an outstanding true crime author! She has set the standard so high over the years, and continues to. I'm happy to be in the same sentence with her. Again, very glad that all of you are enjoying the new book!

******************

Hi Kathryn, I have read all of your true crime books and I have enjoyed them all. They are all so well written and I find it really hard to put them down once I start! Cannot wait for the next one to come out as am just about to finish Shattered.
Sooz

KC: Hi Sooz. Nice of you to post such a kind comment! I'm glad you're enjoying the books. I'm working on a new true crime book now, which will be out next year. I also have a new novel coming out at the end of October, so it's a busy year!

******************
Hi Kathryn

Just finished reading "Shattered" and thought it was a great read. I also enjoyed "Descent" and look forward to reading your other books. I have been a long time fan of the true crime genre and am glad there is another author along with Ms. Rule, who could write a great true crime.

Delia

KC: Hi, Delia! Glad that you're enjoying the books. Comparing me to Ann Rule is a fabulous compliment. Thank you!

***********************

Hi Kathryn, I thoroughly enjoyed reading "Shattered". I fear an appeal will be successful however. I believe Temple is guilty but, after one reviews the hard evidence against him, there isn't any....

KC: I truncated the post above because it contained so many spoilers. To the author, I've moved your comments and my response to the Update page on the Web site. If you'd like to discuss further, please email me at kc@kathryncasey.com. I enjoyed hearing your theories!

*********************

I know the Temples very well, and you absolutely got them right in the book. Whoever you talked to about David and his family gave you the truth. They were always covering up for him. I saw it first hand. He'd get in trouble, and they'd stonewall and explain it away, and because he was a star football player, nothing was ever done. If you need any more info on that family, call me, my number is 281-********.

KC: Thanks, but the book's done, so nothing needed at the moment. Glad you agree with the depiction in the book. I blocked your phone number, to keep it private. But I sincerely appreciate your weighing in!

*****************

I am from Katy and just wanted to let you know that your book SHATTERED was AWESOME!!!! My heart goes out to Evan as he has lost both of his parents and is now living with the person who had everything to do with it! I know some of David Temples family members and can't believe they are so blind! Most of the people who went to my high school (Katy High) thought David did it before the trial even happened! I have never been a crime reader, but I am definitely going to read more of your books!! Anonymous Katy Tiger

KC: Thanks, anon from Katy. I gather a lot of folks in Katy knew that David was a train wreck waiting to happen. Too bad Belinda didn't know. Very sad. Happy to hear that you enjoyed the book!

***********************

Hi KC,
I'm afraid you are right about the new electronic wave. I've just read "Shattered" and "Descent into Hell" on my iPhone with Kindle in the last week. I LOVE this new reading format. So convenient! Needless to say, I am officially hooked on your books. I would love to know if you plan on adding "She Wanted it all" and "A Warrant to Kill" to Kindle anytime soon? Thanks!!

KC: Funny you should ask...yes! Both SWIA and AWTK will be out on Kindle later this year, I hope in the fall. Glad you're enjoying the books. Wonderful to hear that you're "hooked." LOL

*****************

Kathryn - Can you explain how Heather Temple is able to keep custody of Evan? Are the Lucas' able to see him and/or have visitation rights? It seems so unfair and it seems like the Lucas family continues to suffer blow after blow. Amber

KC: My understanding is that the Lucas's have some court-ordered rights, but the visits are very short and infrequent, and they're never alone with Evan. They meet in a public place. I've also been told that David signed papers saying he wanted Heather to have custody. Doesn't seem fair, does it?

********************

I just finished reading Shattered......wow....I truly believe he did kill poor Belinda! Finally, she and Erin got justice...I hope he rots in prison!!!!!!

KC: Glad you enjoyed the book.

************************

Hi Kathryn - I know the question about David Temples appeal has been answered, but I wanted to take it a step further. Correct me if I'm wrong, but considering the fact that the appeals court stated publically that the appeals process typically takes about 60-90 days to decide, doesn't that give you the impression the court must feel there's at least some validity in the defendants grounds for appeal? Further, as each day goes by with no decision, is your opinion on whether or not the appeal will be granted affected at all? If so, how? Thanks in advance for your feedback - BJT

KC: Dear BJT: I don't know what the judges are thinking. I've learned not to assume anything, just like I don't guess what a jury will do. I've followed appeals that dragged on for years that went no where and others that took a long time and were finally reversed. So, I honestly can't answer your question.

****************

Hi Kathryn, I was on here before and just wanted to let you know that I thoroughly enjoyed "Shattered". I'm delighted to hear it's flying off the bookshelves! Fiona F.

KC: Thanks, Fiona. Thanks to everyone who's reading the book and recommending it to others! Your support is much appreciated.

****************

Hi Kathryn, It is July 13, '10 and I just finished reading Shattered. It there still no word on David Temple's appeal which was filed in January. I really, really enjoyed your style of writing and plan to read more of your books.

KC: No word on the appeal yet. Check my update section and I'll fill everyone in when we know.

***************

Hi Kathryn - I just finished reading Shattered. In January I think David had an appeal hearing. Do you know what the result of that was? Alison

KC: The decision hasn't been announced by the appeals court as yet, Alison. Once it comes in, I'll post the information on my updates page.

******************

Thanks Kathryn, I do have a great Husband! I would love to read Warrant To Kill, but it is not in the Kindle Library. Any chance it could be at some time? I'll be watching for anything new you have coming out. The story of Matt Baker should be a really good read, especially when written by you!
Sue

KC: Thanks, Sue. Baker is a fascinating case. I didn't realize WtoK wasn't on Kindle. I wrote my editor and asked if it could be added. I'll post here when I get an answer.

**********************

I received a Kindle for my birthday in May from my Husband and have read A Descent Into Hell and just finished Shattered. I have always enjoyed true crime novels and I really enjoy reading yours. You are such a wonderful writer. Thank you so much for including your books in the Kindle library. I am a Kathryn Casey fan!!
thank you,
Sue

KC: Thank you, Sue. What a nice husband you have. I'm amazed to see on Amazon.com, that SHATTERED's Kindle sales are out pacing the paperbacks. Guess electronic publishing is taking over. Really interesting. Very happy to hear that you're enjoying the books!

****************

I just finished "A Warrant to Kill" it is the second book I have read of yours and I have 3 others that I ordered and am just trying to figure out which one to read next. I will be buying your new book Shattered soon too, you have a fan for life. You're a great writer Kathryn and keep us interested and fascinated. Keep it up!

Lia

KC: Hi, Lia! Glad you're enjoying the books! And it was kind of you to drop in to tell me. Made me smile. Without all of you who love to read, I wouldn't be able to spend my life doing what I love, writing!

*********************

Kathryn,

Thank you so much for writing the book "shattered" Belinda deserved it. She will be missed by all of us that knew her.

Tony Luna

KC: Thanks, Tony. I'm gratified to hear from so many of Belinda's family and friends. It's through all of you, your memories of her, that I was able to bring her to life in the book.

*******************

What do you think of what is going on in Laura Hall's sentencing trial? Does this make you question - who actually killed Jennifer ?

KC: No. I've seen no evidence that even suggests Laura Hall was in the apartment at the time Jennifer was murdered. In fact, the evidence at the resentencing confirmed not contradicted what came out at Pitonyak's trial and Hall's first trial.

*********************

Hello Kathryn, I just finished Warrant To Kill, and I've also read A Descent Into Hell and She Wanted It All. As soon as I get to a bookstore today I'll have another Kathryn Casey masterpiece in my hot little true crime reading mitts.
JPerry
http://madameperryssalon.blogspot.com

KC: Thanks so much. It's appreciated! I took a peek at your blog and enjoyed it.

****************

Hi, Kathryn. I'm a huge fan and have a couple quick questions. This might sound weird, but I'm always surprised that you and Ann recommend each other's books to readers. Aren't you two competing against each other? Also, do you only cover crimes that happen in Texas? There are some other fascinating crimes that I wish you would consider writing about.

KC: Hi there. I'm sure you read more books than I can write, since it takes me a year to turn one out. So I don't see a problem recommending authors I believe in, and Ann is, of course, at the top of the list. As to Texas, I've kind of settled in down here and, so far, I haven't had to leave. The unfortunate truth is that there's always an amazing case unfolding in Texas. I do sometimes consider branching out, but I haven't so far!

*************************

Hi Kathryn, after viewing the 20/20 or Dateline show on the Jennifer Cave story I immediately went out and bought A descent into hell. Wow! You are amazing- I since have read She wanted it all and Evil beside her (all in two weeks). I just ordered two more from amazon. Just wanted to let you know that I really enjoy your work.I have read most of Ann Rules but I think you are my new favorite T/C writer. Thanks again for your hard work!
Dave
Pacific Grove, Ca

KC: Thanks so much, Dave! I enjoy writing the books, and it's encouraging to hear that you're finding them worthwhile reads. There are more on the way! SHATTERED, on Houston's David Temple case, comes out in June. I have a new Sarah Armstrong mystery out in the fall: THE KILLING STORM, and I'm currently working on a book on the Matt Baker case in Waco, TX. It's good to be busy!

**********************
Re: Comment below
My name is Fiona F by the way!!

Hi Kathryn, as a long time Ann Rule fan, I ran out of her books to read. So, upon Ann's recommendation, I picked up your book 'Evil Beside Her'. Now I am officially hooked! Ordered another book of yours which came this morning so cannot wait to get home to start reading it now!!

Hey Fiona,
Ann's one of my favorites, too! So glad you're enjoying the books. And it was really nice of you to drop in to tell me. Made me smile!

Hi Kathryn, would you consider writing an updated book on Darlie Routier?

KC: I've actually been wanting to look into that case. I haven't started yet, but there would have to be something truly new for me to go with it.

*****************

I know that it's right in front of me but where do I sign up to be a KC fan for facebook?
Joy Sanders

KC: Hi Joy! Here's the link. I'm posting lines from SHATTERED, my upcoming book on the David Temple case: http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/pages/Kathryn-Casey/78341053846?ref=ts

KC, don't worry, I can wait for anything you have to write whether it's on the Routier case or some other case. Love all your work.

Sibby

KC: Thanks, Sibby!

Since reading one of your books (which i could not put down, i might add)i have ran out and bought all of them. Love your writing you are very talented! Keep em coming i look forward to reading more works from you for a long time!

Hi KC,

I finished reading A WARRANT TO KILL. What a page turner! Without a doubt, you have to be one of the top writers in this country. I am so glad you chose to make writing your life's career.
Best to you,
Jude

KC: Glad you enjoyed it, Jude! That means a lot, especially coming from another writer. Best to you, too!

**********

I am very excited to see that you are looking to review the Darlie Routier case. I have read every book on that case that I could find. It will be very interesting to read your take on this very enigmatic case.

Sibby

KC: I'm just starting to poke around, Sibby. It could be quite a while.

************

Hi Kathy,

I don't know if you will remember me, but my name is Sharla Miles, and we met at the Bed & Breakfast in Waco, TX during which you were conducting your research for the Matt Baker murder. Well, I guess it's official-I noticed online that Baker was convicted on Wednesday of killing his wife. I cannot wait to see the finished product. It was really nice meeting you. Cheers! Sharla Miles

KC: Of course, I remember meeting you, Sharla. But are you the mom or the daughter? LOL

****************

Hi KC,
I was just looking at the fiction books and I see that I should have ordered SINGULARITY first then Blood Lines. Oh well, not to worry, I will just order Singularity too. Already have BLOOD LINES and WARRENT TO KILL on the way and soon I will also have SINGULARITY too. Wish everything was that easy to fix.
Keep up the great work, KC, you are the best and my favorite author.
Jude

KC: Thanks, Jude! It's much appreciated.

************************

Hi Kathy, great seeing you at GF Weekend. These weekends just keep getting better. Great picture of you and Pat Conroy. Next time I see you, I won't be looking like Scar Face. Jim's comment: Bev took a little trip! Hope your new research is very productive.

KC: Thanks, Bev. So sorry about your fall, but glad you're feeling better. You were missed Saturday evening!

**********

I just read BLOOD LINES, and its as good as SINGULARITY. I love youre novels. Are you going to give up true crime and write fiction? You should. You could write them faster. Jennifer from LA, CA

KC: Hi Jennifer. Nope. I'm going to continue to write both. I love the fiction, but the true crime is important. The books don't just entertain, they open up a world to folks, exposing the damage violent crimes do. Glad you're enjoying the books!

*****************

KC: Wishing all of you the happiest of holidays and a spectacular new year!

**************

Kathy, love the new look to your website...and the picture of you and Max. Well done!

Oh, and write FASTER!!

Rae

KC: Thanks, Rae! I'm trying to write faster. Really I am....LOL

**************************

Kathryn,

I am an avid reader of Ann Rule books, and have been for years. Unfortunately, I have read through them all (some twice!) and needed more. I tried other authors of true crime, but I am always disappointed because none seem to measure up to her writing ability . . . until you. I found her recommendation of your books on her website, and I looked you up. I think I have all your books now, too, and you are every bit the writer she is! It is exciting and refreshing to read a well-written book. Thank you for what you do so well!

Pam, Albuquerque NM

KC: Wow, Pam, you made me blush. Thanks so much. Ann is a friend and one of my very favorite writers, so this is a huge compliment. I'm glad my books lived up to her endorsement. It means the world to me.

Happy Holidays: K

Kathryn,

Really enjoyed visiting with you at our Lake Charles Conference. Your presentation was intriguing. Blessings,
Curt

Hi Curt,
Enjoyed meeting you as well. Glad our paths crossed!
Best, KC

******************

Dear Kathryn: I LOVE your books, I was wondering if you could possibly write a book about the Heather Rich Case? I'm surprised that no one has written a book about this yet.

Jessica

KC: Hi Jessica! Really happy to her that you're enjoying the books. I am familiar with the case, and it is fascinating. Right now, I'm committed to a couple of other projects. Not sure if I'll have time for it, but I'll put it on my maybe list. I appreciate your bringing it back to my attention.

*************

Dear Kathryn: I just wanted to let you know that I became a true crime fan last summer vacationing in Hawaii when I discovered the Stranger Beside Me by Ann Rule. I have since read most of her books, and have just this week, read Die, My Love, and and finishing She Wanted it All. You can credit her website for the suggestion! Anyway, I really like your style. You don't get too bogged down with historical facts, and you keep the story moving. I knew that there were some opportunistic women out there, but Celeste really shocked me! I just can't get my head around how such a successful business man with a great example for a marriage in his past can be so hoodwinked! Is it really the sex? :-)) You don't have to answer that.

Well, looking forward to the ending, will be up for half the night, and looking forward to ordering more of your books. Thanks for the sheer entertainment!

Elizabeth

Hi Elizabeth,

Sex is a factor, but I'm sure you recognized other factors in Celeste's psyche. So happy that you're enjoying the books! Ann Rule, of course, is wonderful.

Where is there an "updates" page? I don't see it.

KC: At the very bottom of the left-hand column. It reads: "Updates: Beware Spoilers!"

Hi Kathryn, My name is Kristin T*****, I live in Abbotsford BC, Canada. I just finished reading A descent into hell. What a tragic story. My heart goes out to the Cave Family. I have never been brought to tears while reading a book before but there were parts in your book that I couldn't help but break down and cry. I can relate to Jennifer, I am 29 now but I went threw the same struggles with drugs in my younger years. I am happy to say that now I am a wife and mother of 2 and changed my life around for the better. I wish Jennifer could have had the chance, she was ready to and wanted to to it was her time to shine and that was stolen a
