Drop in and say hi, or leave a question. Beware! There are spoilers posted here!!!!I answer questions here, so if you haven't read the books, don't read these answers. But this is your turn; leave a note to let me know you stopped by. No last names, phone numbers, or e-mail addresses please, since this is a public forum!Click and type in a question or comment I really enjoyed all of your books, but my favorite is still "Shattered" That is the very best book I have ever read. I am SO glad David Temple lost his appeal. Kathy KC: Hi, Kathy! I'm happy to hear that you're enjoying the books. SHATTERED is such a sad, sad case. ******************************** Ms Casey, I am the fan that left the message about reading your comment on the Ann Rule fan page. I think I have all your true crime books and will look forward to the next one. Gail Ms Casey, I am the individual that left the message about the duplication of 'Rapist Wife' and 'Evil Beside Her' and reading your comments on Ann Rules fan page. I forgot to leave my name so you will know who your fan is. Thanks for your true crime books. I will watch for the new ones. Gail Ms.Casey so nice of you to follow The Ann Rule page. There have been many comments on your work there also. I bought all your true crime books I could find listed in the last book I found. Were 'The Rapist Wife' and 'The Evil Beside Her' the same book? I read 'The Rapist Wife' first because from my research I thought it was the first book you wrote but I will read 'Evil' also. Flying through 'Descent Into Hell', great book. I found myself talking to Jennifer as thou she could hear me. What a tragic story and the waste of such talented and intelligent people. KC: Hi, Gail. Thanks so much. I'm delighted to hear that you're enjoying the books. Yes, they are the same book. It mentions that on the cover of EVIL, but I know it's in rather small print. EVIL is a reissue of The Rapist's Wife with a new cover, afterword, and some new photos. Basically, it's been updated. But if you've read the first book, I wouldn't worry about reading the second. I love popping in on the facebook page. Ann is a friend and a truly wonderful author. She's high on my list! I can understand your talking to Jennifer. I wish we'd had the opportunity to warn her. *********************** Absolutely love your books. Wondering if there is a future book in the works surrounding the Kaufman County DA shootings. I'm following on the news and watching the interesting twists and turns coming up and my thoughts keep going to you wondering if you are following also. Becky, From the home town of the "Temple's" KC: Hi, Becky! I'm delighted to hear that you're enjoying the books! I'm not able to do a book on the Kaufman shootings, although it's an interesting case. I'm knee deep in the I-45/Texas Killing Fields murders, the mostly unsolved killings between Houston and Galveston. I'll be at this for awhile. There's a ton of research. Thank you for thinking of me and suggesting the idea! If I were free, I'd sure be tempted. ********************** Just finished Deadly Little Secrets and I wasn't able to put it down! I read this not long after I had read Shattered and I am so amazed at how real you made the women in both books seem! I couldn't help thinking how unfortunate two great women like Kari and Belinda married such evil men. Do you see any similarities between these stories of two mothers? You did such a great job, I feel like I know these women, how sad their lives were ended! Can't wait to read another, Denise KC: Hi Denise! I'm so glad that you're enjoying the books. There are similarities between the women, the most important one, perhaps, that they refused to consider the signs they were seeing. They both believed so emphatically in their spouses that for years they ignored all the indications that their husbands weren't the men they believed them to be. Really sad. The old adage "Love is blind" is all too often true, and in some instances dangerous. ************************ Hello, FYI : a poster below asked if there was any thing televised re: A Warrant to Kill. On the Bio Channel A Warrant to Kill will be on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 @ 6:00 p.m. ET. AnnaMarie KC: Hi, AnnaMarie. Thanks for posting this! ********************** Kathryn, You are, by far, my favorite author. I have your site set as a favorite. I've read every one of your books and look forward to every new release but I read them so fast that I have to wait for what seems like forever before you have another new one. Are you currently working on any others or following any cases that you may be interested in taking on? Your faithful reader, Trice KC: Hi, Trice! How kind of you to drop in to tell me you're enjoying the books. Thank you. I'm working on a book on the I:45 murders, south of Houston. It's been a hunting ground for multiple killers going back to the 70s. As you've noticed, however, I'm a bit slow. The books take me a long time. And this one is taking me longer because there are multiple cases. But I'm working on it! I promise! LOL If you're on facebook, friend me, Trice. We have a lot of fun, a good group there. Here's the link: https://www.facebook.com/kathryn.casey.509?ref=tn_tnmn ******************** In Shattered, you wrote of Belinda's life with dignity and grace that apparently she was not afforded during her life. I was wondering if you interviewed David Temple and if so what was your impression of him? I noted that in one of his interviews he conceded that he had an intimidating presence yet he certainly presented himself as humble and sorrowful when he cried during the interview (his behavior seemed more sad of his own situation in my opinion). Also, is it your opinion that she did not leave him because she was afraid of him or just unaware of his affair? I find it offensive that his family seems to ignore the truth, seems to me he shows the characteristics of a psychopath. And, so much was made of Belinda's weight yet she doesn't appear heavy to me, do you think he only wanted a Barbie doll version of a wife? Sorry for so many questions! The book stirred my curiosity, I could not put it down!! Great job, can't wait to read another one of your books! KC: Thanks so much. David refused my interview request, but I was in the courtroom throughout the trial and heard his testimony. I actually thought he did well on the stand. Often a more accurate way to assess people is by interviewing those who know them, which is what I do with every book. I'm happy to report that David's friends have told me the book is spot on, that David is every bit as volcanic and controlling as I portrayed him. I believe Belinda would have eventually left him, but that David couldn't abide that. He didn't want a divorce, he wanted her gone, so that he didn't have to share their son or any criticism for a failed marriage. It's incredibly sad. I'm glad you enjoyed the book! ******************** i have enjoyed your books so much. Looking forward to the ones I have not yet read. KC: Thank you! ******************* I wrote the comment below and then read the info on James Bergstom's parole. I will definetly write to oppose. I have done this in the past. Many conscientous bloggers have posted such info. It is one small thing I or anyone can do for justice for victims. After Warrant to Kill, I think I will try Sarah Armstrong. I am jumping all over your site and may have missed, do you have any upcoming true crime books ? AnnaMarie I have always read/followed true crime stories. Way back since the Boston Strangler. I am now reading Evil Beside Her. Usually I dont read or follow rape stories.I was able to be sympathetic towards Linda rather than judgmental. So I am still reading! I first read the Kari Dulin Baker book. I followed this case. I even dislike attaching Baker to Kari. I was always suspicious about Kassidy's death. I believe Matt didn't want an imperfect child. Susan Powell reminds me of Kari. Two women devoted to their families. He is a true sociopath. I yell at the tv when I watch his interviews as he tells his incredulous story. What evil witches Celeste Beard and Piper Rountree are! Currently I am following Travis Alexander/Jodi Arias case while reading Evil Beside Her. It is almost palpable watching the pain on Travis' family's face. My next choice is Warrant to Kill.Your writing is so easy to read, it's as if your telling me/other readers the story over lunch together. Thank you for bringing the victims to life. KC: Thank you AnnaMarie. It's good of you to file a protest. It's important to keep James Bergstrom where he belongs. He's a very dangerous man. I, too, question Matt's involvement in Kassidy's death. Such tragedies these are, especially where children are concerned. I'm so glad you're enjoying the books. Thank you for reading them. I know there are a lot of books in the stores, and it means the world to me that you gave mine a chance! The Arias case is an interesting one. ******************* Do you know if any primetime stations covered the Joseph Kent McGowen/Susan White story? I just finished the book which I could hardly put down and was curious of this story was followed by 48 Hours, etc? Thanks! KC: I don't know why, because it was such an important case involving a police officer, but none of the news magazines covered it. I was one of the few media people in the courtroom. I'm delighted to hear that you enjoyed the book! Thanks for dropping in. ********************** Love your books! My father was a detective, so I have always been interested in law and crime stories. I just finished "Die My Love". Do you have an update on Tina and what became of her charges? KC: I'm so happy to hear that you're enjoying the books! Check the update section, and I'll add info on Tina. Thanks for posting! **************** Just finished "Deadly Little Secrets". Great job. Justice is exacting! KC: Thanks! Much appreciated. *************** I always enjoy your books and just finished 'Deadly Little Secrets' which is AWESOME. Thanks for being so thorough in your research! Norma KC: Thank you, Norma. It's great to hear that you're enjoying the books. ******************* Bravo on your recent audiobook releases! I was so excited your books were released on audible! I listen to every true crime audiobook I can get my hands on, and quickly bought up all your audiobooks. I've finished Decent into Hell, almost finished Die My love, and have started Evil Beside Her. They are all excellently presented. I hope there will be more releases in the future as I will definitely get them as soon as they become available (I'm in Australia, so we get them a little later). Thanks for all your work! A,R, Muir. KC: Hi, A.R.! Nice to meet you. So glad you're enjoying the true crime audio books. Seven of my books, including all three mysteries, are currently available on audio. The others will be out soon! I'm so happy to have the audio books available. I've received many requests from audio book listeners over the years, and this is very exciting. I'm very pleased with all the narrators. Wait until you hear Moe Rock narrate SHE WANTED IT ALL. It's actually a bit creepy; Moe sounds so much like Celeste Beard, it's eerie! ***************** I am reading Shattered and am truly enjoying it. I definitely don't like how the Temple family pushed Belinda's family out when making funeral arrangements. I would think the the Lucas family should have had the opportunity to take charge being it was their daughter. How is Evan doing now and what does he think of what happened to his mother and does he get to see Belinda's parents and siblings? KC: I'm glad you're enjoying the book! I hate to post spoilers here. The information you're asking about is in the Author's Note at the end of the book. Keep reading and you'll get there. It is also on the update section on SHATTERED on this Website. Just look in the left hand column, and it's a link at the bottom. Happy 2013! ****************** I saw you on Television. ID series. I had it on for hours but every time you came on I would look up to see you. Your voice and look is so interesting I was mesmerized. Then I looked online to find your website. You should make your own series and narrate your own stories and real ones. You would be great! KC: Well, thanks! That's really kind of you. I appreciate the suggestion. For the time being, I think I'll stick with my day job, but, hey, that is a fascinating idea! ************************** So impressed with your writing! You are #1. Shirley KC: Thanks, Shirley. It's appreciated! ******************** You are one of my all time favorite TC writers! KC: Thank you! Really kind of you to drop in to tell me. Happy holidays! ************** Just read your mini book The Drag Queen Murder ..... looking forward to more of your full legneth stories. KC: So glad you enjoyed the book about Cliff and Patrice. Such a strange love affair that turned horribly tragic. Thanks for dropping in to tell me! **************** Love your books. Am reading the newest one, Deadly Little Secrets, about Matt Baker. KC: Thank you. That's great to hear! **************** Kathryn, You know I am an avid reader of all your books. I enjoyed your Sarah Armstrong books and wonder if you will do more with that. Wishing I had a new book of yours to spend the time while Hurricane Sandy is going through the area. :) Sibby Hi Sibby, How great that you dropped in to say hello! I am planning to write another Sarah book, I hope next year. It's kind of you to ask about her. The poor woman, I did leave her hanging, didn't I? Stay safe through the storm. I'm worried about all of you! KC ************* I just finished Deadly Little Secrets, and I couldn't put it down. I loaned it to a friend of mine, and she couldn't put it down either. I live about 30 minutes from Waco, and I remember when this happened. It makes you want to send Matt Baker hate mail! KC: Glad to hear that you and your friend enjoyed the book! Matt truly perverted faith and much of what is good in the world. Very sad case. Don't we all wish we could rewind the clock, warn Kari, and prevent this terrible tragedy? I know we do. All we can do at this point is wish Kensi and Grace wonderful lives. *********************** Loved your book "Shattered" Left a review on goodreads and amazon for you. Going to buy more now... :) KC: Thank you! The on-line reviews are very important. They make a big difference. It's really appreciated. Really happy to hear that you enjoyed the book! ********************* Are you following the latest developments in the Temple case. Any thoughts? KC: I am, very closely. First: one has to be careful, because innocent people are, unfortunately, sometimes convicted. There's no doubt that some of the people in prisons across the nation don't deserve to be there. That said, nothing I've heard about what is in the alleged "confession" of the Temples' teenage neighbor makes sense in the context of the crime scene and the evidence. Dick DeGuerin is trying to get his client out of prison, and I understand that. But as the details of the sealed statement are being leaked, and from what I'm hearing from sources, it appears doubtful at best that this information, if it is true, pertains to the Temple case. In my opinion, it would be a gross injustice to reverse the jury's verdict and release David Temple based on this kind of questionable evidence. This is an unsubstantiated conversation recounted by someone thirteen years after the murder, and it's just not sufficient to be the basis for opening prison doors and releasing David Temple. If the defense attorney truly believes that this evidence proves David Temple's innocence, DeGuerin should follow normal procedures by filing a petition with the appeals court to return the case to the trial court so the evidence can be heard and considered without the appearance that it's being ramrodded through the system. ************************** After I read your article in the paper (Aug 24, 2012) I got your book, "Deadly Little Secrets." Your writing was great! I have been a fan of Anne Rule for years. I especially appreciated the fact that you were able to show the victim's life, and the trials of her family. Will read some of your others. KC: That's wonderful to hear! I'm so glad you're enjoying the books. Thank you! **************************** I love DEADLY LITTLE SECRETS. It kept me up all night last night, and I wasn't sorry at all. I just need for you to write faster. Can't you do a couple of books a year? Please? KC: Thanks so much, but this is the best I can do. I'm not trying to write the MOST books but the BEST books possible. That means that it takes a long time. I go to the trials, do all the research, interview everyone I can. It all adds up to a long haul, but I believe it pays off when I sit down to write. I'm glad you're enjoying the books. I will try to write faster, but I can't promise. All I can say is that I'll do my best to make the books worth waiting for! ***************** Hi Kathryn, I am so sorry I was reading your books like I always do and I read this book called the Vampire Killer why I thought you wrote it its because I read all of your books, anyways I e-mailed you that I had some questions that weren't answered in the book. Well I should of figured you weren't the author. Clifford Linedecker was and I couldn't understand why I was having trouble with this book. If you had written it it would of been great because this author I have to say did a real crappy job writing it. He left a lot of things untold and confusing. I am so sorry but I read so many of your true crimes and friends send them to me I just now figured it out that you were not the author. Anyways I am a true fan of yours and I am going to order Shattered and The killing Storm next. KC: LOL I'm sorry the book disappointed you, and I'm glad it wasn't one of mine! ******************* Hi, I just started reading the book Shattered and absolutely love it a friend of mine let me borrow it. I have never read a book that you have written before but I will definatley be reading another one by you. I love reading true crime books so I am glad I have found another great author. Karen Brockton, MA Thanks, Karen. Much appreciated. I love Ann's books, too! I'm happy to have been found! **************** Love love love your books! I never can put them down! For some reason Texas true crime novels are my favorites! Kathie KC: Thank you, Kathie! Really good to hear! ******************* I too enjoy your books as so many others. I want to know if you have any updates on Maggie Ward who was convicted of killing her mother in Poth, Texas. Sounds strange but I have wanted and tried to locate her the last year or so, I was a correctional officer at the Hilltop Unit when she was housed there in 1997-1998. KC: I just looked at the TDCJ offender search site, and it doesn't show that she's incarcerated, so no, I don't have an update. She was in prison early last year, but she's been eligible for parole for a while. If I hear anything, I'll post it on the update page. Wonderful to hear that you're enjoying the books. Thank you! *********************************** I do not believe Laura Hall should get out of prison before her 10 years are served. I believe she would not hesitate to hurt Jennifer's mother. KC: I hope Laura has gotten beyond that, but I don't know. Sad that she's been unable to accept responsibility and go on with her life. She will get out some day, and I hope by then she's healed enough to understand where her life went wrong. ************************** I believe I have read all your books. Amazes me how I can be so "hooked" on one of your books even if I already know the story. I think it is because your research is just amazing! The detail and thoroughness of your research is really excellent. The last I read was about the rapist, James Bergstrom. I have had many years of exprience doing codependency therapy. This book displays the dynamics of co-dendency in almost perfect focus....not because that was your intention, perhaps, but because the research and detail is so thorough it can[t help but illustrate the dynamics from the family of origin to the process to the end. For those critics who were frustrated with his wife's attachment and the apparent "stupidity" of her continued involvement, note her continued desperate attempts to control that she could not net go of. How do you leave such an obsession behind? you do great work!! KC: I do consider the research vital when working on a book. It makes me rather slow. You may have noticed the books aren't exactly flying out the door. But I'm happy with them when they're published. They're as complete as I can make them, and that's important to me. Thank you. And congratulations on your work, making a difference in lives. So important. ******************************** Hi Kathryn-I just finished The Killing Storm and LOVED it. I am hooked!! So is there the 4th Sarah Armstrong? I am not seeing it. Lynn KC: Hi, Lynn! You've caught up. I'm hoping to revisit Sarah next year, but for now, you know as much as I do about her adventures. Wonderful to hear that you're enjoying the books! ************** Hi I just watched American justice and I really want to know if MCGowan is still in prison....I truly hope so... KC, is Kent McGowen (Warrent to Kill) still in prison as of 7/12? KC: Check McGowen's status out on the update page. It's in the left-hand column at the very bottom. ************************ I just finished Bloodline. Great read! I like mystery series where I can follow the same characters. (James Patterson & Alex Cross.)I was happy that Sarah and David got back together at the end. All the best, Kathryn! KC: Thanks, Lynn! That's wonderful to hear. I like Alex Cross, too. ************************** Hi - just finished reading "A Warrant to Kill" and was so irritated that McGowan was first sentenced to only 15 years for murder and in his second trial, only 20 years. Seems to me the evidence supported that this was premeditated so the short sentences were a shock to me. Our justice system doesn't seem to work in all states, I guess. Thanks for "listening" to my venting! KC: I do understand your frustration. ****************** I am now reading Bloodlines. I really enjoyed the opening scene with the description of the glittering monarch cocoon. I felt like I was there in the audience and had a wonderful visual. Lynn P*** KC: Thanks, Lynn. I'm happy to hear that. I work so hard on the books, hoping to transport the readers, it's wonderful to hear that it works! ******************* I just watched "Notorious" . Can you tell me if Joseph kent McGowan has been released from prison and how long he served. or if you don't know, how do I find out. Thanks Bev E******* KC: Look under the update section, through the link in the left hand column, Bev. The info is there. ********************* I was just wanting to tell you I love your books. I only read true crime and when I start a book I have to be sucked in by the first page and even sometimes the first paragraph. I have never been good at writing when I was in college I hated composition classes I just hated to write but love to read crazy huh. I love your books and I am looking forward to the book on the bakers . I look at that man an boy he can make up a lie on a wim. I saw an interview where he stated he wished he would have testified. Only does he say that after the fact if he really wanted to and was truly innocent he would have got up there even if his attorney advised him not to. It is sad when your own attorney does not want to be there. Do you know why bakers attorney was made to represent him is there a law or something. I know I would not want a attorney that did not want to represent me. Thanks for the awesome books. KC: Hi! It's wonderful to hear that you're enjoying the books. Thank you for posting to tell me! As you've mentioned, Matt Baker's attorney, Guy James Gray, wanted to drop the case, but the catch was that Gray needed the permission of the judge. Since it was so close to the trial, the judge refused Gray's request. A new attorney would have required time to work on the case, postponing the trial yet again. The time had been set aside for the trial, and the judge wanted it to go forward. *************************** Hi! I'm doing a prodject on psychopaths and i was wondering if your book the evil beside her would be a good book to read for info? KC: Yes, it is. The book is actually used in quite a few college victimology and criminology classes, because of the insight it gives into the obsessive mind of a psychopath. I had extensive interviews with James Bergstrom, the psychopath in the book, which is quite unusual. Good luck with your project! *************************** I just bought Singularity, Kathy, and am waiting for it to be delivered. Congratulations on your writing success! You are famous! Lynn KC: Thanks, Lynn. Wonderful to hear from you! ******************** I read Shattered and I believe this book was so good. I actually had to skip so much because I could not handle reading about how David Temple got on with his life. He is a cruel selfish person thank God he was convicted because he is so guilty. I just can't stop thinking of Belinda but was wondering if Evan ever gets to see Belinda's family they should have got custody of him instead of a morally bankrupt home wrecker like Heatehet. I am now reading a Decent into Hell good so far. KC: Wonderful to hear that you enjoyed the book. The Lucases saw Evan for a while after the trial, via a court order, but I don't believe they've seen him in the last couple of years. I hope that maybe someday they'll be reunited, so he can get to know his mother's family. *************************** Hey Kathryn, I live in the UK, where to say we are thin on the ground with true crime is a bit of an understatement. I discovered Ann Rule about 20 years ago and recently she recommended you ... oh my goodness I am hooked, i think you are amazing and only wish i had found you sooner. I have now read three of your books, as i get about 2/3 way through one I have to go on amazon and order another, I have also pre-ordered your new title due out July, so i just wanted to say thank you very much! KC: Hi! Thank you very much! It means a bunch to me to hear that you're enjoying my books. It's why I write, you know. Ann is wonderful. A great human being, and such an amazing writer. Her endorsement is a true compliment. I'm excited about DEADLY LITTLE SECRETS in July. Glad you've got it on preorder! ************************** Kathryn, I am currently reading "She Wanted It All". What a crime and tragedy! I had heard of this crime before; seen a piece about it on A&E I believe. I still cannot believe the things that Celeste did to her family, her own flesh and blood. When you were putting this book together, did you ever talk with either of these ladies involved in the crimes? Thanks, Jennifer. KC: Hi, Jennifer. Yes, I interviewed Celeste in prison and I had multiple long interviews with Tracey Tarlton. It is an amazing story, and Celeste is a rather baffling individual. It is surprising that she could be that bizarre, but it's true! ****************************** Just finished a warrant to kill and wanted to say I feel it is spot on. I served time with Joseph kent McGowan in tdc and it is amazing that he was the same in prison as described in your book. Unfortunately I believe he has already been released but thanks for bringing this tragedy to light. KC: I had lost track of Kent, but I just checked and he is still in prison, I don't know for how much longer. Yes, Kent is quite a distinctive personality. ******************* Kathryn, I very recently picked up 4 of your true crime books; Anne Rule highly recommended you. I am very pleased with your books. I have read 3/4 of the books and can't wait to pick up more. KC: Thank you! That's great to hear. A wonderful compliment. ***************** Kathryn, I have always been a big fan of Ann Rule and have read all of her books. I recently got a Kindle and did a search on "True Crime" and came across some of your books. I've already read four! Can't put them down! I'm so excited about reading more! A new fan, Deb KC: Hey, Deb. Great to meet you! I'm so happy to hear that you're enjoying the books. I'm a big Ann Rule fan, too. She's amazing. ******************** Just a random question. Have you ever thought of looking into the murder of H.C. Lewis and his son-in-law in Lubbock, Texas? As dysfunctional families go, the son-in-law murdered his father-in-law, H.C. seconds before the father-in-law got in his own shot, both died together. Big fan of your books, murders in West Texas are psychologically intriguing as well as the subject matter in South Texas. KC: I haven't heard of that case. I'll have to look it up on the Net. Thanks. Yes, West and South Texas are intriguing settings. I'm so glad you're enjoying the books! Wonderful to hear. *********************** I am a huge fan and have all your books on Nook! I am now going to dive into your fiction. I know there will be books on Casey Anthony in the future, and I'm wondering if you have thought about covering that story? KC: Hi, so good to "meet" you! It's kind of you to think of me regarding the Anthony case. It is a fascinating one. I honestly thought about it but decided against it. It just seems to me that at this point it's been overdone. But I appreciate your coming to me with ideas. It's hard for me to keep up on everything that's going on, so I enjoy hearing what readers are interested in. ******************************** Hi Kathryn! Just stopping by to say hello. Can't wait for your next book. Sibby KC: Thanks, Sibby! It was good of you to drop in to tell me. Made my day! ********************** Just finished "Shattered" and it was a great read but a tragic story. I read it in two days & I cannot stop thinking about Belinda & Erin...I pray for peace for her family and friends. I am now starting "Once Upon ATime...". Can't wait to read it. Good luck with your next endeavor. KC: Thank you! So glad to hear that you enjoyed SHATTERED. I think of Belinda and Erin often, too. Their deaths were so tragic. ********************** Hi, I just got on to your Sarah Armstrong books. I've just finished reading Killing Storm. I was wondering if there is going to be another book. If so when will it be published. Signed, Patiently waiting KC: Wonderful to hear that you enjoyed the mysteries! I'm hoping the fourth Sarah Armstrong book will be out in late 2013! Sign up for my website newsletter to be notified. Thanks for dropping in! ******************************** I'm watching 48 Hrs - Hard Evidence on the ID channel about the Colton Pitonyak case. I've read the book twice and think it's one of your best. The show has several interviews with Laura Hall and she is a real specimen. Her protestations of innocence sound like she is trying to copy what she thinks a truly innocent person would sound like. Keep up the good work! Jan KC: Thanks, Jan. It's much appreciated! ****************** Hi Kathryn, David Temple's ruling was upheld. I will attach the information for the record. http://openandclose.homestead.com/TempleOpinion.html Hope this brings some peace to those impacted by this crime. Shannon KC: Hi Shannon! I appreciate your letting me know. I do have this listed on the "update" page, in the lower left hand column. Just click on the link for updates on all the cases in my books. **************** Hi Kathryn. I just finished A Descent Into Hell. What a gifted writer you are! I couldn't put it down. It's one of those books that stays with you for weeks, maybe years. I've read many true crime books but never one that made me cry. I felt a tiny portion of what Jennifer's famiy was going through. I was heartened that you added so much information about Susan, the rest of her family and how they were dealing with the death of such a wonderful daughter and sister. That's usually what's missing in true crime books. The victims and those victims left behind should never be forgotten or overlooked. I hope the Cave family is doing well. I think of them often. Thank you, Rochester, NY KC: Thank you for your kind post. I know that Jennifer's family will be very touched to hear that your thoughts are with them. My heart truly goes out to crime victims and their families. So many are so brave in the face of such tragedy. ****************** Nashville TN I just wanted to say I really enjoy reading ur books I have read several of them. I just finished A descent into hell. I can say that was a hard book to read. I have a teenage daughter and two almost teenage boys and I made my daughter read the book so she could see what can happen. I feel for Jennifers mom and family. I can not even put in to words how I would feel. My family thinks I am crazy to read about such bad things and I don't think that way I read them and the whole time think really they think they will walk for this no matter what they do they will get caught. KC: Hey, Nashville! So glad you're enjoying the books. DIH is a tough book. I agree. Such a strange and sad case. My take on true crime books is that the good ones give a lot of insight into human nature. Thanks for dropping in. ************** Hi Kathryn, Fiona here. I was on here before a couple of times. Tracy Tarlton was paroled last August. Do you know how she is doing healthwise and wellbeing? She has gone through so much in life as detailed in your book She Wanted It All. KC: Hi, Fiona! The last I heard from Tracey, she was living with friends in San Antonio and getting her bearings after spending the years in prison. She seemed to be doing very well. ************ Katherine, where oh where can I find the paperback version of Texas Love Triangle??? KC: Unfortunately, there isn't one. That's one of my four true crime shorts, not a full book but a condensed recounting of an interesting case, and it's an ebook exclusive! I'm sorry. I truly am. I wish I had that option, but the shorts really aren't suited to doing as paper books. Thank you for asking though! ******************* I am a native Houstonian, so of course you are my fave author by default... funny thing is I have never read you before, he he he. Just started reading The Killing Storm, actually on page 15 and already I am happy. Have family in Tomball. I can not believe I have not read you yet. You just might have a new fan. KC: Well, thanks! Houston's a great place to live. I love it here. Great to hear that you're enjoying the books. Say hi to your family in Tomball for me! ****************** I have read SHATTERED countless times, yet each time I read it my heart breaks for Belinda Temple and her family. I feel that Belinda's family received justice, if not closure, when David Temple was sentenced to life in prison. I pray his appeal will be denied. An excellent book that will stay on my reading list for a long time to come! KC: It's wonderful to hear that you enjoyed the book so much you're rereading it! You can check in on David's appeals on the update page of the website, last in the left hand column. Belinda was a very special woman. *************** I went to High School with James Bergstrom. I remember watching the local news and seeing his arrest and being very disturbed that I knew him. He was very strange in school and I can't say I was surprised he turned out this way. I hope he stays behind bars for a long time for what he has done to women. KC: I agree. We're all safer if James isn't free. ****************** Kathryn I just finished reading Shattered. I used to live in Katy as a teen growing up there way before the murder of Belinda Temple. Your book put me right there! It is wonderful the way you can put your readers right there at the scene and in the courtroom. The crime was absolutely horrendous. I believe David Temple was sentenced correctly. I would like to know if he is still in prison? I hope he is. Hoping his appeals will be denied. Linda KC: Hey Linda! Good to hear from you. I'm glad I caught the flavor of Katy. I enjoy researching the areas I'm writing about. Check the update page for the latest on David's appeals. I have all the info there! The link is the last one in the column on the right. Thanks for dropping in. ********************** Kathryn, just read the She Wanted it all book again for the second time...what a great book!It gets me so angry to think Celeste Beard Johnson got away with as much as she did. My heart goes out to the entire Beard family, and to celestes children, they have been through HELL. Heather...Frankfort,NY KC: Hey Heather! Good to hear from you. Yup, Celeste is a piece of work all right. The twins had more than their share of turmoil growing up. I know we all wish them the very best. ***************** I just finished reading 'A Warrant To Kill' by Kathryn Casey. This is one of the best written true crime books I've ever read .... in a class with Ann Rule. Many authors seem to regurgitate writing scenes over and over again .... you didn't .... couldn't put it down. RF KC: Hi, RF! So glad you enjoyed AWTK. I try hard not to repeat within a book, and I'm delighted to hear that it's working. I really dislike books where the author keeps going back over the same information. Enough already! LOL. Thanks for dropping in! *************** I just finished Susan White's book; I read it on my Kindle. There were no pictures and I always enjoy my true crime pictures. Where might some pictures of the principal characters be located? Enjoy your writing very much; always have liked Ann Rule and Carlton Stowers. Thank you, Lynda KC: Glad you're enjoying the books, Lynda. I heard about this problem and talked to the publisher, but I gather it hasn't been fixed yet. I am sorry. Because of the issue, I scanned and posted the photos from the book on the page devoted to the book here on my website. Simply look in the left-hand column and click on the book's name, A Warrant to Kill. ************* Hi Kathryn, I'm reading A warrant to kill and I'm hooked!!! My mom introduced me to your books and I love them. Ann Rule was spot on with the recommendation. You give victims and their families a voice. Thank you! Claudia KC: Hey, Claudia. Nice to meet you. Thank you to your mom! Really happy to hear that you're enjoying the books! Ann is really quite wonderful. ******************** Hi Kathryn, I am a third generation true crime fanatic! I am on my fifth book, and my boyfriend now hates that he introduced me to the Kindle app on the iPad....just gives me quicker access to your books so less game time for him. :). I am giving my mom and meme your books...I know they will be hooked! awesome job! Mandi KC: Hey, Mandi! Your post made me chuckle. Please apologize to your boyfriend for me, but I'm delighted that he introduced you to the Kindle app. Also tell your mom and meme hi for me. Just so happy that you're enjoying the books! *************** I was watching the James Bergstroms story and hoping he was still locked up is he? Can I sign a petition because I will? KC: Thank you for wanting to help. There are instructions for protesting on the update page on this website. You'll find the link is the last one in the left hand column. Again, thank you! ********************** Hello Kathryn Just returned from vacation where I bought your book about the Belinda Temple murder. How sad and how atrocious at what she suffered. I could not put this book down I was so saddened by the betrayal she suffered despite being a wonderful human being. I have also read 'a warrant to kill,' and 'she wanted it all' as well as many others and can recommend them to other true crime readers. I am from the UK and just wanted to drop by to say thank you you for all your hard work. It is important that the victims are not forgotten. Your books ensure this will never happen. Kind regards Joanna KC: Hi Joanna, Thank you for reading the books. If it weren't for all of you readers, I wouldn't be in a position to write. You all make a wonderful difference. **************** Ann Rule highly recommends your true crime books and from reading the first three chapters of 'The Killing Storm,' she is spot on. I don't have Kindle or Nook, is there an option to pay and download to my computer? In addition, when you research your next book, do you write while investigating, or do you wait to write until you know the outcome? Very interested in the answer. I look forward to your response and reading your books. J.C. Hi J.C. All my books are available in either hardcover or paperback form as well as eBooks. So if you don't have an eReader, it's not a problem. The exceptions are the true crime shorts, which are only in eBook form. If you don't have an eReader, you can download the Kindle program free off Amazon and read the shorts on either your smart phone or your computer. As to how I work, I start the books at the time of the trial. I attend all the trials, and then fan out from there, interviewing everyone willing to talk to me. I don't usually start writing until I've finished all the research! Thank you for your interest! Best, KC ****************** I love the cover of your book. As an author, the Manipulative Man McCoy, 2006, I know how hard it is to find a good cover artist. KC: Thanks! I'm assuming that you're talking about TRUE CRIME FILES? I posted the cover on facebook. It'll be available next week. I'm very excited. Good luck with your book! ******************** Hi Ms Casey, I've read several of your books so far and am "hooked" the same way I was when I started reading Ann Rule. I'm not quite finished with Celeste Beard; She actually has a website! (didn't think they could do this from prison) "Free Celeste" where she solicits donations for her legal fees! Really?!! She is one scary person that I hope never is free again, I also hope she rots in hell. You really captured her. This book was awesome; I couldn't put it down. Thanks again!! Are you working on anything at the moment? KC: Wonderful to hear that you're hooked! LOL Seriously, it's kind of you to drop in to tell me. Celeste is incredibly destructive, the way she uses people. I'm finishing up a book on the Matt Baker case out of Waco, TX. Matt's a former Baptist minister convicted of murdering his wife and staging it to look like a suicide. Ann's a great writer, and a wonderful woman. ************** Did you follow the trial of Casey Anthony? If so, what did you think of the prosecution's case and the verdict? D Hi, D. I watched parts of the trial, but not as if I were following it for a book. I'm still pretty amazed at the verdict. I can't understand how the jurors didn't find Casey Anthony guilty of child abuse. She was the last one with Caylee, and the little girl ended up dead in the woods. She didn't report it for 32 days. I don't know enough to judge what happened on the murder charge, but certainly there was enough there for felony child abuse. **************** Ms. Casey, just read one of your books for the first time - "Shattered", and was very impressed by your writing. Actually it was the first true crime book I'd read in years. Dark human behavior can certainly be depressing or overwhelming at times. Do you ever have problems disengaging when you're working on a true crime book or have you learned how to turn your brain off when needing a break from it all? KC: I'm glad you enjoyed the latest true crime book. Yes, it can be upsetting. It's difficult to see/hear what people will do to each other. But the truth is that I meet wonderful people writing true crime books, so it's not as depressing as one might think. I believe it has made me appreciate life more, which is a good thing! *************** Shattered - It sounds like there are some very judgemental people who have a read a book by an author who does not know ALL of the parties involved and only gave the Kelly Sigler version..... KC: That's incredibly unfair. I spent a year on this book, and I reached out to everyone involved in the case. In the end, I interviewed somewhere around 100 people. If you have information you'd like to tell me even now about the case, you can reach me at kc@kathryncasey.com. If not, it's really not fair to complain. *********************** Hi Kathy, great writing. I am a first time reader of your book " die, my love" and haven't finished it yet. I have read a lot of true crime books but I don't know where I have been in passing/missing your books. I am going to try and read all your books now. Thanks, John KC: Hi, John. Wonderful to hear from you. I'm so glad you enjoyed the book! It was kind of you to get in touch to tell me. ******************* did kent mcgowan ever go to jail?? I just finished "Warrant to Kill". great book....very sad story... KC: Check out the update page for that information. It's the last link in the left hand column. Great to hear that you enjoyed the book! **************** From Jeannie in beautiful NC: Next to Ann Rule (I read you upon her recommendation) you are the best crime writer bar none. Holding my breath for your next book! KC: Thanks, Jeannie. Ann is one of my favorites, too. She's a great writer and a wonderful woman. ************* Hi Kathryn, just finished a second reading of Shattered. My own theory is that Belinda was in the kitchen ready to put the soup in the fridge when David called out to her from the bedroom. Belinda hurriedly went upstairs dropping her keys on the way up (assuming David sounded frantic enough). Then as she entered the bedroom, either David ordered her down on her knees in the closet or asked her to look at something near the floor of the closet when he pulled the fatal trigger. Just my guess Kathryn. Love your writing!! Fiona KC: Wow, second reading! You've got this case down, Fiona! You may be right. Unfortunately, we'll never know. The only thing that seems certain is that she died soon after arriving home. *********************** I just started reading blood lines and you are becoming another one of my fave crime writers, brava! Jenn (KS) KC: Jenn, you made me smile. Thank you. *********************** Life without parole seems justified based on what I saw on the show. At least 20 years before being eligible for parole. KC: Not sure which show/case this is about? Glad you enjoyed the program though. ****************** I have read all of your True Crime Books. Loved everyone of them. Looking forward to the Matt Baker book. I'm not really a fan of fiction, but may consider reading yours once I'm all caught up with the True Crime. KC: Thank you! Hope you enjoy the fiction. It's been great fun to write. ************ Love your work. KC: Thanks! It's appreciated. ************** Hi Kathryn- I recently finished reading "She Wanted it All" and noticed that Tracy Tarlton was eligible for parole this February, 2011 - do you have any updates? Thanks for a very interesting book! KC: Tracey is eligible for parole this year, but no decision has been made yet. When I find out, I'll put it up on the Update Section in the left hand lower corner. Glad you enjoyed the book! ************* I have only read Shattered, but it was written so well! Sad story. I wish my local library had more of your books on the shelf! Will definitely read more! KC: Glad you enjoyed it! Hope your library orders some. Sometimes they can bring them in from other libraries/branches! ************************* Haven't read one if your books yet because I'm in nursing school and all I read is my textbooks. But I promise when I'm done reading about vomit, perforated anuses and heart attacks....I will read one of your novels! True crime intrigues me and I am looking forward to reading home grown Texan stories! KC: Wow! That's quite a reading list. Glad I'm on your to-be-read list! ************ Hello Kathryn,I have read Shattered and She Wanted It All so far. I have enjoyed both books very much. I am on my way to the library to see what else is available. Please keep them coming. I plan to read them all. Thanks! Your talent is awesome. Shelly~San Angelo Tx. KC: Thanks, Shelly! I appreciate your dropping in to say hello. So glad you're enjoying the books. ********************* Actually my comments are not unlike everyone else's. You're a terrific writer and your books are totally captivating. I have read 3 so far and will order the others as I go along. I can really appreciate the time and work you have put into these books evidenced by the detail you lay out. Texas fascinates me as well. I'm from north of the border and life is a little different here. Love to have you live here for a while and write about some of the whack jobs around here... Ms. Casey, you are an incredible author, don't stop. Walter from Vancouver KC: Hey, Walter. I love Vancouver. What a beautiful place to live. Thank you so much for your kind comments. I'd love to cover a case in your part of the world, but the books take me so long (guess I'm a bit slow) that I have to stay closer to home, or I'd be on the road all the time. Again, thank you! ********************* Hi Kathryn - As a long time fan of true crime books, particularly Ann Rule, I stumbled on Shattered. It was beyond terrific - and I have since read all the rest of your true crime books - could not put them down ! I'm sure you can't write fast enough for me !! Many thanks ! Betsy KC: Hey, Betsy, thank you! So glad you tried one of my books. It's wonderful to know that you're enjoying them. I'm an ARF, too. Ann is a great lady. ***************** Hi katherine, I am a new reader of your books, and I think you are an excellent true crime writer. I have read 5 of them since receiving a kindle for Christmas. I, too, like many others, am hoping that Kent Mcgowen is in jail by now. Is he? ed Hey Ed. Kindles really sound like fun. So glad you're enjoying the books. I'd better start writing faster. I can't keep up with all of you! Check the update section in the lower left hand column for the latest on Kent McGowen! **************** Hi Kathryn We are so excited to see you today. Thanks for being such a powerful writer and sharing it with us. Jo Gilbert Hi Jo! Loved meeting your book club. What a great group you have. Keep reading! ****************** Hi Ms. Casey. Read shattered and it was so well done that I can't wait to get the rest of your books. The outcome was reassuring to many who had lost faith in the jury system. One thing I really long for in a true crime story is where the killer actually admits his/her crime and tells how it was done. I guess I want them to show some remorse, and not just sorrow that they were caught. Thanks for your great work! KC: Thank you so much for your comment. Wonderful to hear that you enjoyed the book. I haven't covered a case where the killer has admitted guilt, but I'm sure they're out there. ***************** Hello, Kathryn: Just can't stand it, I was a 'late bloomer' getting to your books, once I did, read them all, the true life crime in Texas. You have spoiled me now I am in withdrawel waiting for your next, Matt Baker. Thank you for your wonderful work, I do believe it helps the victim's families and friends as well, to tell an honest story. KC: Then we're both late bloomers! LOL Sorry about your withdrawal pains, but I'm working hard. Sign up for the newsletter on this Web site. I always keep readers posted about when to expect new books. Thanks for dropping in! Your comment made me smile! **************** Hi Kathryn: thank you for responding to my post, I am glad in a way that David Temple's appeal was denied, however the true victims of this senseless tragedy are course Belinda and Erin. Natalie :) Hi Natalie: You're welcome! It's good to hear from you. ***************** Hi Kathryn: Just almost finished reading Shattered, and what a gripping read. I have no sympathy at all for David and his family, although I do feel for the Lucas family. Did you happen to see that 48 hours program, where David is actually shedding tears for his dead wife, nothing was said about his verbal abuse of his wife, he said he wanted the baby girl, not true. Do you think he will win his appeal? KC: Glad you're enjoying the latest true crime book. For the latest on David's appeal, click on the update page, using the link in the lower left-hand column. There is news! *********************** I read my books on my Kindle and was very disappointed there were no photoes in "A Warrant to Kill". I went online to see if there were photos and there were none so I was disappointed again. KC: I am sorry about that. I've told HarperCollins about the issue and they're investigating. I hope there will be photos very, very soon. Because I had this complaint earlier, I put some of the photos from the book up on A Warrant to Kill's page on this Web site. Just click on the title in the left hand column and you'll be able to take a look! ****************** Hi Kathryn Casey, I Just finished reading "Shattered" what a great book could not put it down! What a sad Story! Sorry to hear what happened to Belinda and her baby Erin all those years ago. Can not wait to read more of your Books. I like the look of A Descent into Hell!! All the Best. Janet. KC: Thanks so much, Janet. It's great to hear that you enjoyed the latest true crime book. ********************* You were recommended by a friend of mine who knows you, but will go un-named. I am new to your books but have just requested Singularity at the local library, (and by the way, our teeny tiny library has THREE of your books!). So, that's that. Just glad to give a published female writer a kudo. Barbara KC: Thanks, Barbara. That's great that your library has the books. Say hi to the librarians for me, and to the person who knows me, whoever it is! ********************* Dear Ms. Casey. I just finished reading "The Killer Storm" and I have very seldom come across a book that I simply had to finish. I couldn't put it down. Thanks for such a splendid story. Betty S. KC: Hi, Betty! I do love hearing that you couldn't put the new novel down. I try hard to keep you reading, you know! **************** Hi Kathryn, I have just finished Evil Beside Her. You wrote it beautifully, I could not put it down. At times I was feeling anger for Linda staying with James, but your way of relating what she was going through made me feel differently. I'm from Toronto, Canada, and I always had the impression that Texas had the harshest laws of all, but I think he still did get off a little easy. Anyway, thank you for the amazing work you did and I look forward to reading more from you. Dee KC: Hi, Dee. Thanks so much. Much appreciated. I am trying to keep James Bergstrom behind bars. You don't have to live in the U.S. to protest his parole. See instructions on the UPDATE page. ****************** Hi! I belong to two book clubs and buy my books mostly through them. I saw The Killing Storm advertised one month. Plot plus intriguing cover made me buy it. I have not read the other Sarah Armstrong series. Now I will have to read the other two in series. Killing Storm was sooooo good! I finished it today stuck in house from a blizzard! The plot was so great and other characters were well done. The storm coming in the book was so suspenseful. I hope you are writing another Sarah book! KC: Thanks so much. Absolutely made my night to hear you're enjoying the mystery series. I have a bunch of fun writing the books. I loved writing about that hurricane. (Way more fun than living through one.) ***************** Hi Kathryn! I can't wait for your book on the Matt Baker case. How is it coming along? (If you're interested in the Casey Anthony saga, I would LOVE to read your take on it...!) Anyway, "She Wanted It All" continues to fascinate me - and this is literally weeks after I initially closed the book. One of the reasons the story continues to intrigue is Celeste Beard's life of non-regret behind bars. I was Googling and found the most bizarre pro-defense site I've ever seen: freeceleste.com. I couldn't help but laugh when I saw her list of 'upcoming projects': "Mining for Misery: how true crime writer's (sic) profit off pain." Since she apparently holds a fresh BA from Texas A&M (??), one is left to wonder why grammar 101 continues to fail so harshly. Liz KC: Hi Liz. Glad you're enjoying the true crime books. Great to hear! I'll have to check out Celeste's Web site. You know, I guess she didn't like my book? How shocking is that? *************** I really enjoy your writing. Good reading! KC: Thank you! **************** I loved Blood Lines! I have read 2 of your Sarah Armstrong book's ( loved them ). I hope to see more of Sarah and her fellow Rangers. Keep them coming. KC: I'm not sure if both of those posts above are from the same person, but thank you! It's wonderful to hear that you're enjoying the novels. I love writing them. ***************** WOW, I just read a warrant to kill, a buddy suggested it and i gotta tell you i read the whole book in one setting. I'm in law enforcement and have lived in this area my whole life (although i was young when the events took place) i knew almost every location in that book, i simply couldn't put it down. After reading it i talked to several of my "old school" co-workers and some of them knew the guy, one even worked with him. I will definitely be adding your books to my collection. I see your po box is int Tomball, must have been thrilling writing about something so close to home. Andrew KC: Hey Andrew, Wonderful to hear that you enjoyed the book. It's an amazing case. Yes, it was fun to write about a case in my own backyard! Best, KC ******************* i called my library to find out if you were ann rule but now i know you are not that you just like her books like i do KC: Nope, I'm not Ann Rule. And yes, I do like her a bunch. LOL Thanks for stopping in! ************************ Hello again Kathryn, Thank you for posting the photos for Warrant to Kill. FYI, the photos that were in the HB version of Shattered WERE included in the Kindle version. For some reason Kindle books often don't have the photos/illustrations they should have.... I wonder if this is a publisher's decision or Amazon's. In any case, there's no way of knowing beforehand if the photos will be included or not in a Kindle book. Again, many thanks! Lee KC: That is odd. It's the same publisher for both books. Must be some kind of a glitch. Thank you again for telling me. Hope the photos I posted helped! ****************** Kathryn - I was given a copy of Shattered by a friend who said it was a great read! I was a little unsure if I would enjoy it, since I had already watched a television show about this murder, but I could not put it down! I just finished A Warrant to Kill and it was just as good!! Planning to buy another one of your books soon!! Keep up the good work and keep these good true crime books coming! KC: Thanks anon above! I'm very happy to hear that you enjoyed both books. Happy New Year! ****************** Hi Kathryn, I just finished reading A Warrant to Kill on my Kindle and was disappointed the photos weren't included. I looked online for photos and inside the book on Amazon. I couldn't find any through Google and, evidently, the pictures are copyrighted so they weren't shown on Amazon. Can you please tell me where I can see the photos that were in the HB book? (BTW, I love your books!) Lee KC: Hi, Lee! Glad you're enjoying the books. I didn't realize that photos aren't included on Kindle. That's not good. Sigh. The photos are, of course, in the printed books. For folks buying e-books, I went ahead and posted some of them on the WTK page on this Web site. Unfortunately, they didn't scan all that well. Thanks for letting me know. I hope Amazon gets this fixed! ****************** I am reading Blood Lines, having read Singularity and the Killing Storm already. I love your style of writing (a little bit like JA Jance I think)! I hope you are working on another Sarah Armstrong book. KC: Hi anon above! I'm glad you're enjoying the novels. I love writing them. I'm not working on another Sarah Armstrong book at the moment, but I would like to in the future. Sign up for the newsletter, and I'll keep you posted. Funny you'd mention Jance; Library Journal compared our books. Very flattering! Happy New Year! ************************* I downloaded "Decent Into Hell" on my iPad and finished it the second night. I watched Pitonyak's trial on Court TV in 2007. This case has always interested me because the murder seemed so senseless and what they did afterwards was disgustingly unimaginable. I saw the 48 Hours episode for the first time a few weeks ago and Laura Hall appeared to be incredibly out of touch with reality. She came off as completely unbelievable and most of all, truly disturbed. Jennifer's mom said it best when she said," when you look at Laura, there's nothing there." It's scary to know that this kind of evil exists and she'll unfortunately be up for parole soon. I always felt so bad for Jennifer's sweet mother. I pray that family finds the strength to move forward, as best they can. 2 Questions out of complete curiosity: Do you know if Mr. pitonyak is continuing his college education in prison? Where is he serving his sentence? On a random note, I grew up in the town of Kerrville, Texas, which is where Matt Baker moved after the death of his wife. I didn't return to Kerrville after college and reside in Dallas, but I heard all about it. It's a small town, so any news like that is a big deal. I don't have any information other than I know he was working as a Youth Pastor while in Kerrville. If you need any information about the town itself, I'd be happy to provide information. His mugshot is in the public records section on the Kerr County website. I like that you write true crime about murders that take place in Texas because I've followed so many of them. I was impressed with "Descent..." Very well written and researched. I believe I'll be downloading the book about Belinda Temple next!! Have you ever thought about looking into the murder of 16 year old Heather Rich?? Very interesting case with many twists and turns...just a thought. KC: I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed DIH. It was a hard book to write, incredibly sad. Others have mentioned the Rich case to me. At this point, I'm booked up. I would love to hear from you regarding Kerrville. Please email me at kc@kathryncasey.com, and we'll "talk." The last I heard, Colton was teaching English as a second language and literacy to other inmates. I haven't heard that he's continuing his education, but he may be. He should. He is truly brilliant. You're right about Laura. You can read more about her under the update section on this Web site. ******************** Merry Christmas, I just started reading your book, "Shattered" and I find it a very easy read. This is the first time I have read any of your books and I know I will want to read the one that you are working on now. Thank you for this book. Grace KC: Hi, Grace. You're welcome, and thank you for your kind post. I'm so glad you're enjoying SHATTERED. Wishing you a great 2011! ****************** KC: Happy holidays, everyone! Wishing you a great 2011! ********************* BREAKING NEWS: 12/21/10: New info on the David Temple case (SHATTERED). I don't want t |
