Hey All,

This is so exciting. I've just learned that Library Journal has chosen The Killing Storm as one of its best books of 2010. The list was just released, and my novel, the third in the Sarah Armstrong series is one of only five mysteries. I can't tell you how honored I am. Here's the blurb about the book:

Casey, Kathryn. The Killing Storm. Minotaur: St. Martin's. ISBN 9780312379520. $25.99. As Texas Ranger Sarah Armstrong investigates the ritualistic killings of prize cattle, a four-year-old boy is kidnapped, and a hurricane heads straight for Houston. Riveting suspense and nifty plot twists in an outstanding series. (LJ 10/1/10)

Thank you to everyone at Library Journal, and thank you to all of you who are reading the book and recommending it to others. As the holiday season begins with Thanksgiving, I have much to be grateful for. High on the list are all of you who read my books. I love writing, but I couldn't do what I do without your support. Wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving surrounded by family and friends!

Great News! The Library Journal just gave my new novel, the third of the Sarah Armstrong mysteries, a starred review! This is the highest of honors. Rather than rattle on about it, here's the review:

The kidnapping of a four-year-old boy from a Houston park brings local law enforcement and the FBI together in an intense search. Meanwhile Texas Ranger Sarah Armstrong (Blood Lines) investigates the slaughter of some prize cattle. Symbols drawn on their hides point to African folklore. As the search for the guilty party intensifies, a major hurricane bears down in the Gulf heading straight for Houston. Contrasting the seeming unconcern of the missing boy’s mother with the anguish of Sarah’s daughter, who has just recovered from her father’s death and now fears that her mother will perish in the storm, adds depth to this suspenseful thriller. VERDICT Readers waiting patiently for the next J.A. Jance mystery will want to try this exciting read.
